Non immigrant O visa in Bangkok?

Recommended Posts

Am I right in thinking you used to have to apply outside the country, but now can get on while here, even on a 60 day entry stamp? Poor bloke in UK was told he had to get one there and cost him time and much more money going to the embassy. His marriage extension ran out while he was there.

You can get it in Thailand or outside.  For UK applicants they don't go to the embassy, and no longer even have to send your passport in.

Can obtain non O in Thailand even from visa exempt entry.

(see attached thread).

The UK guy could have done border bounce reentered visa exempt and apply for non O at local immigration office.

If extra time is required to obtain funds then the 60 day visa exempt can be extended by 30 + he could obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife.

Unless you live in Samui where Immigration refuse to do it. Unless of course you use an expensive agent.

In such cases, a trip to Laos - to a Thai consulate there - may be a more enjoyable use of one's money.  Similar if in Pattaya.  In Bangkok (CW) one can apply there using "by the book" rules w/o issue / agent-payment.
