Thai Officers Suspended in Chinese Abduction for Ransom Case
Agree and very odd being in Ubon, were they nabbed at the Laos border nearby and shaken down ? Bit to this likely but we'll never know... -

Chinese start-ups such as DeepSeek are challenging global AI giants
I think the scariest part is that in the moment nobody really knows the details. People claim this and that. But is all the information true? But the market obviously reacts already. Because maybe it is true. AI is such a hype and so many people invest in things which look promising, the bubble is very unstable. And I guess what just happened could happen again and again. Or maybe not. It's a high-risk investment, between making huge amounts of money and losing it all. -

Living in Koh Samui?
It depends on what you are looking for. Not having a car, motorbike or even a bicycle can make it both difficult and expensive to get about. Traffic is horrendous at the moment as it is high season. Where I live, the traffic is very bad several times a day as the minibuses meet the speedboats and ferries to and from Phangan. NW down to SW side of the island is quieter. Places such as Lipa Noi and Thong Krut are very quiet. Chaweng is the main tourist resort. Very busy, noisy bars and restaurants in the middle part. Though you can find small, cheaper resorts as you move away from the middle. As others have said, better to come and spend some time first. See where you like. -

Best way to transport big-heavy-ish stuff between provinces
Yeah there's probably a few things in there that we wouldn't want to get lost or thrown around. But interesting idea nonetheless!
