An illegal shipment of this size was most likely not the first time. Did a brown envelope fail to reach the right hands? -

Report Pattaya's Cannabis Shops Face Uncertain Future Amid Policy Shift
You gotta admit, this is a good thing, how the government allowed it in the first place is unbelievable. You only have to walk, or if you dare to drive around the streets of Pattaya/Jomtien to see the amount of spaced out ganga cadets and the destruction of quality of life they have caused to residents and tourists. Top marks for this legislation 👍 -

Crime Tourist Police Host Delegates from 27 Nations, Showcasing AI Surveillance
Picture courtesy of Matichon. The Tourism Police Bureau welcomed diplomatic representatives from 27 countries at its headquarters on 25 June, unveiling advanced technology initiatives to boost tourist safety and strengthen international cooperation. The event, officially titled “Embassy Representatives’ Briefing on Updated Tourist Police Operations and Safety Technology,” was hosted by Police Lieutenant General Saksira Phuak-am, Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau (TPB), under the guidance of Tourism and Sports Minister Suwong Thienthong and National Police Chief Police General Kittirat Phanphet. A total of 62 diplomatic representatives attended the high-profile gathering, which aimed to highlight Thailand’s efforts to enhance its international image and ensure safety for both domestic and international tourists. Pol Lt Gen Saksira introduced the latest artificial intelligence (AI) surveillance technology, explaining that AI-powered security cameras are now deployed in key tourist areas. These systems have already assisted in the detection and arrest of over 230 wanted individuals, demonstrating their effectiveness in crime prevention and enforcement. A key attraction was the demonstration of the Mobile Operations Vehicle, a high-tech command centre on wheels. Designed for use at major tourist sites and large public events, the vehicle is equipped with onboard AI surveillance cameras and integrated body cameras worn by officers. The mobile unit is capable of acting as a real-time emergency response hub, receiving incident reports and coordinating rapid interventions to ensure tourist safety. In addition to showcasing technology, the Tourist Police also promoted the Tourist Police mobile application (TPB-APP) to embassy representatives. The app provides 24-hour support, safety updates, and emergency assistance for foreign visitors. The app’s reach is being expanded through collaboration with the Immigration Bureau and the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), integrating download links into the online immigration form system (TDAC) and the CAAT Connect app. Pol Lt Gen Saksira stressed the importance of international collaboration and encouraged embassy representatives to promote the app among their citizens to enhance communication and tourist protection measures. The initiative reflects Thailand’s growing emphasis on tech-enabled safety, aiming to present itself as a secure, welcoming destination as the global tourism industry continues its recovery.
