Georgealbert Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Picture from the scene. In the early hours of September 27, Chonburi police responded to a reported robbery on the secluded Chagnok Reservoir Road, Moo 4, Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. At 01:35, Police Captain Prakarsit Paladet of the Huai Yai Police Station received the call and quickly dispatched patrol officers and investigators to the scene. The victim, a 43-year-old woman identified as Ms. X (alias), was found distressed and seeking help from nearby residents. She recounted that she had been riding her motorcycle with a man, approximately 35 to 40 years old, tall and heavyset. According to her, the man had lured her with a promise of a trip, and they were riding together on her Honda Wave motorcycle, license plate from Nakhon Ratchasima, after departing from Pattaya Beach. As they reached a desolate stretch of road, Ms. X became suspicious. When the motorcycle slowed down, she leaped off, only for the man to threaten her with a knife and snatch her bag. The bag contained approximately 1,000 baht in cash, a Redmi smartphone, her ID card, and an ATM card. The suspect then fled on her motorcycle down the deserted road. Ms. X waved down a local resident for help, who called the police. Despite the detailed account, authorities became skeptical when Ms. X hesitated to come to the station for further questioning. Officers noted that the victim had a photo of the suspect, raising the possibility that they might have known each other. Police are now awaiting further information from Ms. X. If the crime is confirmed, the investigative team will search for additional evidence to track down the perpetrator and bring him to justice. -- 2024-09-27 1 1
brianthainess Posted September 27 Posted September 27 Had a photo of him, yet no phone, very unusual for a Thai nowadays to carry a hard copy photo, she hesitated to go to the police station, well can't blame her there, with the reputation they have, and the fact that it sounds like she is a prostitute. Surely the cops could track her M/C and phone. I wonder who was driving. 1
Sigmund Posted September 27 Posted September 27 This should be matter of consideration to a different post, asking if it's safe to wear around a Rolex in Bangkok (or in Thailand I may say). Times have changed since. People now are poor, making less money and thus obviously socially angry as far less foreigners, fed up with the cheating and overcharging, are not comming in throwing their money all around in Thailand.

nakhonandy Posted September 27 Posted September 27 That she had a photo seems odd. It does all sound strange, but to what goal? Insurance?
