Popular Post snoop1130 Posted October 28 Popular Post Posted October 28 A Thai motorcycle rider stabbed a taxi driver on a road in Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, after the taxi driver cut him off and hit him with an iron rod. The motorcycle rider, 30 year old Nattaporn, is seeking justice for himself, claiming that the stabbing was an act of self-defence. He insisted that the taxi driver, later identified as 53 year old Thanathat, began the physical assault by hitting him with the iron rod first, even though he attempted to avoid the altercation. Channel 3 reported that the incident took place outside a noodle shop on Tiwanon Road in the Pak Kret district of Nonthaburi at about 3.30am yesterday, October 27. Officers from Pak Kret Police Station and rescuers from the Por Teck Tung Foundation were called to the scene to manage the situation. According to the police report, the injured taxi driver, Thanathat, was found sitting on the road with three stab wounds to his right cheek and chest. His green and yellow taxi was parked in the left lane. Nattaporn waited for the police at the scene with the bloody knife. He also sustained injuries after being hit by the iron rod belonging to the taxi driver. Nattaporn recounted that he was riding his motorcycle in the right lane at about 100 to 120 kilometres per hour when Thanathat cut him off to make a U-turn. They engaged in a heated argument and later parked in the left lane to resolve the matter. According to Nattaporn, Thanathat exited his taxi and approached him with the iron rod. Nattaporn said he attempted to avoid the assault but failed. Thanathat repeatedly struck him, causing wounds to his left shoulder, left arm, and fingers. The two parties fought for control of the rod and struck each other until Nattaporn decided to pull out a knife and stab Thanathat. Nattaporn insisted that his actions were in self-defence and also shared video footage of the incident to support his account. Police have not yet issued a legal charge against Nattaporn and there is no update on Thanathat’s condition. Although the situation should not have been resolved with a violent stabbing, some netizens chose to side with Nattaporn. They stated that the taxi driver himself broke traffic laws by cutting off the motorcycle rider but he could not accept his fault and initiated the assault. CanadaSam Posted October 29 Posted October 29 Having driven in at least 10 countries, one unwritten rule has been ingrained into my mind, the larger vehicle is not to be messed with! For a bike rider (who was, by the way, driving in the right "fast" lane obviously slower than the taxi who overtook him) to engage in a "heated argument" with a car (the bigger vehicle) was unwise, IMO. Not to say that sticks and knives should be used in any type of confrontation, but if you're smaller, accept the lesson, stay off the fast lane, and don't pick fights with guys bigger than you. 1

I'd say it's more about driving style than size of the car, but the bigger cars are more likely to drive aggressively from experience. At the same time, you have people driving them really slowly like the mum's in Fortuners and grandad or his wife in a pick up. Edited October 29 by alien365 1
