A hospital porter from a well-known hospital in Udon Thani has died after jumping from the fourth floor of a municipal apartment building. The tragedy has left his family, including his mother and fiancée, heartbroken. They were set to marry in just one month.

At around 11:50 on October 31, Udon Thani's Rom Pho Thong Radio Centre received a report of a man who had apparently jumped from a building, leading to his death at the scene. The incident took place at the five-story municipal apartment building on Udon Dusadee 4 Alley in the Ban Huai 1 community.

Police officers, including Deputy Inspector Lt. Col. Nattawat Ladawan, the investigation team, Udon Thani Hospital medical staff, and emergency responders from the Udon Sawang Metha Thammasathan Foundation, quickly arrived at the scene.

The victim was identified as Thanakorn Weeraboot, also known as Owen, a 25 year old resident of Phon Sawang Subdistrict, Nong Khai Province. He was found lying face down with severe head trauma and blood pooling on the ground. Witnesses, including a cleaner, named Phakarin, who was the first to arrive at the scene, provided accounts to the authorities.

Phakarin, the cleaner, recounted the tragic moment, explaining she had seen Thanakorn on the fire escape between the fourth and fifth floors. She asked him what he was doing, but he did not respond and looked down. She proceeded downstairs but soon after she heard a loud impact, turning at ground level, to see his body lying motionless.

Not long after, the victim's fiancée, Miss Nam Pornphan, 28, arrived to confirmed his identity. She recounted their last conversation around 09:00, after he had returned to his room following his shift, which ended at 08:00. Later, she received a call from a friend who informed her that someone had fallen from the building. Upon rushing to the scene, she was devastated to find that the deceased was her fiancé. The couple had been together for a year and had planned to marry next month. She expressed her shock, stating he may have been stressed over work and financial concerns.

Security footage of the incident was unclear due to the age of the building's CCTV equipment, which is slated for upgrade. However, it captured the cleaner walking out of the building and the moment she heard the fatal impact, prompting her to alert the building manager and authorities.

The victim's body was taken to Udon Thani Hospital for an autopsy, as the police investigation continues.
