An incident unfolded early on October 31, when a former district agricultural officer shot a man in his restaurant in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, following a heated dispute. The suspect, identified as Suwan Takam, 63, is the owner of Boojee Restaurant on Asia Road in Mae Sot and a former agricultural officer of Mae Sot District.

Mae Sot Police Station received an emergency call around 03:00 reporting a confrontation and gunfire at Boojee Restaurant. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man, identified only as Wut, lying unconscious with gunshot wounds to his torso. Tragically, he later succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

According to Suwan's account to the police, an argument erupted between him and Wut, during which Suwan asked the man to leave the premises. When Wut refused, Suwan, reportedly unable to tolerate the situation any longer, drew a .38 caliber revolver and shot Wut. Following the shooting, Suwan immediately contacted the police and waited at the scene to surrender.

The police seized a .38 caliber revolver, two live rounds, four spent shell casings, and one bullet head at the crime scene. Suwan was detained and taken to Mae Sot Police Station, along with the evidence, where he now faces charges of murder and unlawful firearm discharge.

Suwan, a well-respected figure in the community, previously served as the district agricultural officer for Mae Sot. Known for his amicable personality and positive relationships with colleagues and local residents, especially among local farmers, Suwan's contributions were widely appreciated in the area. This incident has come as a shock to those familiar with his otherwise clean record.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather details about the incident.

Along with your kitchen knives and calculator for bills, a gun is obviously next on the list as an essential restaurant tool here!

Next time you shoot some one, aim for the knee, at least you you wouldn't get charged for murder.
