So the  indicator showed red meaning low water level. Checked YouTube on topping up maintenance-free batteries. Promptly ordered battery water on Shopee. 45tbh (water) vs 3200tbh made feel super-smart. Well, my battery seems to dislike being tampered with. Managed to pride the cover open but the caps were sealed and snapped. Shamefully drove to the battery shop. The guy said your kind of battery cannot be topped up. What the f is then the purpose of the red indicator?
In conclusion, I’m not as clever as I thought.😳

May be to get a new Battery as the old one is close to finish?

I have always been led to believe the indicator shows charge condition , not electrolyte level .

Maintenance free batteries theoretically do not lose electrolyte unless perhaps over heated due to some reason.

Red indicates extremely low charge and which if the alternator is doings it's job correctly means the battery is basically a dead duck.

I have had a battery that showed a healthy green but would fail under load.

The instructions did say red means low water. Infact after breaking the top open I could see very low water. Different manufacturers have different indicators. Yeah I was surprised how  water escaped from the seemingly sealed unit. But then again they wouldn’t have “red=top up water”
