It is a fact that in a potential employment pool of millions, such as plum govvy positions, there are any number of people eminently qualified to do the job and "most qualified" is generally code for picking people who are already entrenched in the system. Those people are more likely to be white males due to historical bias in the system. That the "most qualified" manta is nothing more than a talking point is amply demonstrated by Trump's cabinet picks. Suddenly, "best qualified" becomes a disposable slogan.

From what I understand Harward and other graduates were highly looked after for many years because the fact that they were admitted to Harward meant that they have to be pretty good. That is not the case anymore. It seems the main criteria now is to be high on the DEI score like a trans lesbian mixed black and native something.

Obviously some DEI HR departments will hire those people after they graduate. But others, like i.e. Musk want qualified people.

 

 

The last Pres of Harvard was a DEI. She was black , female and lesbian. She is kicked out now but gets her salary. Gotta love Harvard! She was horrible btw.

Through DEI, the U.S. is committing suicide.   Public schools across the country are ending accelerated and honors classes in mathematics while China is teaching advanced math to elementary school children.   This same kind of "dumbing down" is occuring throughout the U.S. education system, from pre-kindergarten through post-graduate courses.

 

A key factor in U.S. strength had been its dominance in hard science, engineering and industrial design, but that will disappear because DEI is lowering standards so drastically.  It will take several decades, but eventually China, the E.U. countries and maybe even Russia and India will eventually overtake the U.S. in terms of scientific and inddustrial prowess.

 

The reason for stifling  excellence in the U.S. is to close the gaps in academic achievement between  students in various racial and ethnic groups.  But instead of pulling up the students who do poorly,  the emphasis has become dragging down the most gifted. It's a stupid path to follow and one that will cost the U.S. heavily.
