Why would Thailand make enquiries regarding your banking business and credit cards?
The taxation of foreigners in Thailand, which have yet to be clarified, are only coming into force this year, and as yet, there is no tax due by anybody.
HMRC in the UK, the governing tax body, is not allowed by law to look at our bank accounts or request banking information, unless they have a strong case that a person is being dishonest, has more funds than they are declaring or is claiming government benefits unlawfully.
This would make a difference in my thinking. Conversely, it also clarifies that the Republican rule move is just another tempest in a teacup. I do wonder if we might incorporate a rule stating that each member undergo a public exam of their pieces parts to establish that there are nor hermaphrodites (ambiguous genitalia if you wish) among them. Factory work in the land of China earns around 5000 RMB/month, or about $700. Higher in tech assembly joints like FoxConn where they can earn 7000 RMB, or about $1000.
If we put them out of work, they go back to their villages, live in mud/thatch huts without running water or electricity, and earn around 250 RMB/month ($35) as a subsistence farmer, working 12 hour days 30 days/month.
