A fire broke out at a property in Sukhumvit Soi 12, Bangkok at approximately 06:40 on November 21, causing significant damage and leaving four individuals injured.

The incident occurred at the Association for Population and Community Development, located at No. 6 Sukhumvit Soi 12, Khlong Toei district. The building, which serves as both a nursing clinic and a residential facility, is a four-story concrete structure.

The fire originated on the second floor and completely destroyed the most of that level, damaging approximately 300 square metres. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze using multiple water hose-lines and taking over 90 minutes to fully extinguish. PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fans were used to clear the smoke logging in the building.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit in an air conditioning unit.

Four individuals suffered from smoke inhalation, including three women aged 44, 67, and an unidentified individual, and one man aged 38. All injured parties were treated on-site by emergency responders and declined hospital transport.

The Bon Kai Fire and Rescue Station is overseeing the investigation into the incident.

it's always an electrical fault in the AC or switchbox or a short circuit somewhere,  it's never a drunken bum who fell asleep while smoking or someone left the pot on the gas stove too long.

Amazing,  the electrics here are all waiting to short out ....

Given the house I live in now has 32 Amp circuit breakers (total house service is 45 ams, with 4 circuit breakers), and 15 Amp wiring... it does not surprise me that there are electrical faults that cause fires.  Every wall socket on one breaker along with an Air Conditioner, every light (which is all LED - low power) on another, the 3rd is probably the 1st Air Conditioner installed, and the 4th breaker... I think that is the water heater and I am not sure if there is anything else... so pretty much all the high power items are on one 32 Amp circuit breaker (except for 1 Air Conditioner).

aha....  I'll have to consult Crossy on that as I'm no electrical engineer ..... but I get your point.
