That's a disgrace.

On another note, there seems to be some big time epidemic of Brits being caught with cannabis in the UK. Definately flights from Thailand being targetted since cannabis was relaxed in Thailand.

“I am not going to send you to prison—that means you will be released from custody.”

The sympathetic judge acknowledged her mounting financial troubles, detailing the £16,000 she owed in work, rent, and other expenses

Must've had an offer he couldn't refuse....

Who needs 2 heavy suitcases if your only on holiday on your own ? If your coming from alaska or a cold country perhaps. I don't know what it would take to induce me to risk my freedom especially since your jeopardy will start in a place like thailand certainly not £10-15.000 .

I wonder if they flew in with 15kg and returning with 50kg plus? Who knows what red flags are being set off or when one thing for sure even snoop dog would have difficulty persuading it's for personal use

Judge Potter emphasised the naivety of her choices:

“You decided to place your trust in someone you hardly knew. You were acting under the direction of others, potentially for further profit.”

Judge Potter emphasized the naivety of his verdict:

"I believed every single word that came from those shapely lips. I was acting under her spell and released her into the public, hoping for a potential romance."

So smuggling a £100,000 worth of drugs gets you 2 years jail time, yet smuggling £157,000 worth of drugs gets you a suspended sentence,go figure

I do not think she was that naive to believe she was bringing back designerclothes and watches and her 'cut' was £18000. The judge should be ashamed of himself for the sympathetic sentence and the prosecution should appeal against this.Olga will probably sell her story to the Tabloids for even more money.

What's that meant to mean? Are you mad? Do you know anything about the state of brittish justice in the uk at the moment? Being white, working class will see you doing 32 months for saying hurty words. At this present time there are white working class political prisoners in British prisons. Grandfather Peter Lynch 61, committed suicide in prison after being sentenced to 2 years and 8 months and his crime: shouting hurty words at the police.  The judge branded him far right! Yes he was white!

You are  presenting a revisionist version of Mr. Lynch. He was not sentenced to detention simply for saying "hurty" words . On the contrary, he was an active participant in a violent riot that result in physical damage and physical injury.

At the time, a violent mob had gathered outside  the Holiday Inn Express in Manvers, Rotherham. Participants had already broken into the premises and were trying to threatening to burn the  building down. Hundreds of  hotel occupants and workers were at risk of physical harm.   Mr. Lynch was present, actively encouraging the mob and was attempting to incite violence against the police officers. He pleaded guilty  to a charge of violent disorder (participation in a violent riot). The man was a thug. He was already in bad health having advanced heart disease complicated by diabetes.

Let off by a judge because she was doing it pretending she thought it was clothes etc and she had debts 😳

Judge needs struck off for this otherwise every further mule caught will just use this as a comparison and say they had debts !

How do you know? Have you read the case file? A cornerstone of determining guilt is if there is an intent to do wrong.

Sentencing is influenced by the co-operation of the  implicated party. If she  co-operated and provided useful information it would have had an impact on her sentencing. In plain language, grassing and giving up people  can result in a lighter penalty.

If one person co-operated and gave up valuable information, then that person can be treated more leniently.
