I don't know why the Western governments allow this to happen.

Western civilization relies on freedom. Freedom of movement, freedom of expression of option and also freedom of doing business.

Telling to private companies what to do is attribute of dictatorship regtime.

Russia's economy is facing a severe crisis, former Ukrainian banking chief Kyrylo Shevchenko has said, pointing to fuel prices which have soared by 14.6% for gasoline and 11.4% for diesel since January. Mr Shevchenko, the former chief of the National Bank of Ukraine, attributed this surge - the sharpest in 13 years - to a combination of higher excise taxes, strict export bans, surging inflation, and Ukrainian drone strikes targeting key oil refineries, which he said has “sent costs skyrocketing”.

but but but there is ZERO to suggest he wants war against any western nation.

You should stop believing western propaganda.

Exactly.

Lets look at Vlads strategic map so to speak.

He has no tanks, no air force, no air defenses worth a heck.

He has no consumer industry, no export industry and he is sanctioned.

He has the Finns, with a modern Airforce sitting 150 miles from St. Pete. Finns hate Russians. To call someone a Russian in Finland is an insult. They would itch for Karelia back.

He has the Poles ready to charge down the Sulwaki Gap and this time its them with the weapons on their way to Moscow. Poles hate Russians, really hate Russians.

Hes doing Trench warfare in the Ukraine and trying to go through the Carpathians is historically impossible

He lost Syria and has Turkey on his South

He cant count on Iran as they quake in fear

He cant count on Hezbollah or Hamas

he has China on the Amur

If Europe stops buying his gas, where is he getting the money? Nobody wants his crappy weapons.

Oh yeah he has nukes. Probably the only thing that keeps China off of him.

Nothing up there. Land operations are impossible,

But Sakhalin? China claims that.

And who has got the most firepower around there? Hey Vlad, you know you are going to need the Wests help right?

Putin could for example try to test Nato's 5th article by some aggression against Baltic states if Russia can recover its military in a few years. This is of course is just speculation and I am not suggesting that will certainly happen. He might see the West as weak, which concerning especially Europe is at least partially true. No one can get inside the head of a Soviet era former KGB man who is now a dictator in his seventies.

Notwithstanding Russian state propaganda says so almost everyday including where and what weapons?

Don't your lot keep telling us that everything from Russia is a lie? So why do you believe that?

I don't believe Russian propaganda any more than I believe western propaganda.

By the time Russia re arms, Putin will likely be retired. Not even Russia can maintain war level production indefinitely.

That doesn't mean that the next leader will be Gorbachev mark 2.

Japan claims Sakhalin, it was Japanese territory up until 1945 following invasion by the USSR towards the end of WWII
