Russia's economy is facing a severe crisis, former Ukrainian banking chief Kyrylo Shevchenko has said, pointing to fuel prices which have soared by 14.6% for gasoline and 11.4% for diesel since January. He has the Poles ready to charge down the Sulwaki Gap and this time its them with the weapons on their way to Moscow. Poles hate Russians, really hate Russians.

Hes doing Trench warfare in the Ukraine and trying to go through the Carpathians is historically impossible

He lost Syria and has Turkey on his South

He cant count on Iran as they quake in fear

He cant count on Hezbollah or Hamas

he has China on the Amur

Putin could for example try to test Nato's 5th article by some aggression against Baltic states if Russia can recover its military in a few years. This is of course is just speculation and I am not suggesting that will certainly happen. He might see the West as weak, which concerning especially Europe is at least partially true. No one can get inside the head of a Soviet era former KGB man who is now a dictator in his seventies.

By the time Russia re arms, Putin will likely be retired. Not even Russia can maintain war level production indefinitely.

That doesn't mean that the next leader will be Gorbachev mark 2.
