Official Thai House Plan Site Moved?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, this is my first time to start a thread on Thaivisa so please be gentle. :o

There used to be a website at some Thai ministry that featured standard Thai house plans, complete with floor plans, photos of mockups, artists' conceptions, etc. It was at http://www.dpt.go.th/04work/house_model/doc_house.html.

The site is no longer there (and the DPT site, www.dpt.go.th, seems to have crashed my browser).

I wonder if anyone knows where it has moved to, if it has moved? Or is it just gone?

Thanks much for any leads.

It's moved to http://subweb.dpt.go.th/pip/house_model/doc_house.html

The popular plans are here too, in a more friendly download format http://www.crossy.co.uk/Thai_House_Plans/

I agree with SiriusBlack1 - great website!

Your website still refers to the old URL, so you may want to update that.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to use one of these plans in the future. It would be easier, but I know I would need to add covered patios and balconies.

Cheers for the reminder, I'll fix it when I get a decent connection (stuck in Mumbai right now, http only on this link).

We started with a No27, I drew all over the plans and the local architect bod did the changes for a nominal fee. I suspect that the amphur chaps have access to the original CAD drawings, he was certainly pretty quick doing our changes.

All we have to do now is build it :o

Crossy - what's the estimated cost to build No. 27 at today's prices. ( Surprising you dont see more people using the plans for 27,28,29 & 30 - all far better than the average concrete box people build.)

Our man is suggesting 2.5-2.8m for the basic build, I'm waiting for his materials cost breakdown (bet it never happens). We're in Pathum Thani, serious regional variations will apply I'm sure.

Western quality bathroom and kitchen NOT included, we'll be doing that as a seperate item.

No chance mate, even if they do, you've still got to get a Thai to build it :o

Although it's pretty obvious what they're all about most of the time particularly if you've got the missus and a Thai / Engrish dictionary. Print the plans out A3 and you'll soon suss the important points :D You will DEFINATELY want to modify the electrics and probably the plumbing too.

Hi Crossy. I didnt think i could plans in English, but as you said with the dear lady and a good book.

as for the plumbing that is my game anyway. So i hope to be doing that myself. The building i think we will be using a local guy, that i've yet to meet. I'm next over in a couple of months, so i intend to go over armed with plans and see what can be worked out. I must say what i've seen so far look very impressive. Cheers all...... jb1
