Food Panda not accepting my Bangkok Bank Debit Card!!

It started this morning. Expiry date 2028. Plenty of funds in it.

 

Payment option refused.

 

Selected True Money Wallet.

 

This payment option is reserved for Thai nationals only.

 

Want to contact an agent. Cannot. Only can go through FAQs and preselected answers. There's no Contact Agent button. 

 

I inputted another Debit card number which isn't convenient as it's the account I use for extension funds and never ever touch it, it is, or was, higher interest rates and has a twice monthly limit on how often it can be used before each use is charged at around 65THB. It went through no problem.

 

I just ordered a jockstrap on Shopee using the Bkk bank Debit card and it went through no problem. I transferred funds from the BKK Bank account App to another bank, no problem.

 

I deleted the Bangkok Bank debit card from food panda, then inputted it again so it was fresh. Still refused. 

 

So the problem is Food Panda! It won't accept my Bangkok Bank debit card for some unknown and unexplainable reason. 

 

Has anyone else exprienced this?

 

I'm going to send them a strongly worded email if they're not careful.

Thanks for sharing. Registered just to tell that I had exactly the same problem: after several years of successful daily payments Foodpanda refused my BB debit card on the exact same day (i.e. yesterday, Dec 13). Tried exactly the same what you did with the same result.

 

This morning FP has accepted my BB card again. Hope, the same will go for you.

I use BB for all my delivery orders.

I have experienced Panda refusing it on a few occasions (like you, for no explainable reason whatsover).

So then I might do a COD order if I really still need the order and LATER it works again.

Go figure!

I’m having the same problem. Seems more like a deliberate decision from Bangkok Bank, not Food Panda. What makes you so certain it’s Food Panda?

 

Food Panda revenue is down in recent months, or rather they have stopped funneling subsidies into coupons and “rewards” (to buy market share) because the industry is collapsing in other countries. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the two entities is blocking the other for payment related concerns.

Update and some clues.

In the last few days BOTH Panda and Grab are refusing my Bangkok Bank debit card which works elsewhere for scan payments, transfers on Lazada, etc.

Grab is saying contact the bank which I haven't bothered with as yet.

I tried entering the card again on Panda and with the second set of four digits got a problem with my card message so no point in proceeding.

Quite weird.

Surely this must be a widespread thing by now. 

I'll eventually call them, paying cash for now, maybe I'll try another card, but if you have called Bangkok Bank on this issue, what's up?

I have the same problem, my Bangkok Bank debit card is also declined on Foodpanda. It works fine on Grab.

In red writing 'problem with card issuer please select another payment method'.

 

Both on a computer and iPhone.

I cancelled the order as it is the bank account I only use for keeping my visa funds in, and has a 65 baht charge per use if used more than twice in a calendar month, plus delivery charge and tip it was more than the noodles I was ordering.

Experiencing this issue for a whole week already with foodpanda. Though maybe it's a temporary problem because such a thing happened in the past, but seems it's not the case...
