It's not me intention to start yet another debate on the topic of income tax. I'm just curious to know, as I'm sure others are what the general sentiment is amongst forum members.

First option is closest to my circumstances  ....  I already have a TIN as I pay Thai tax on my work in Thailand.  But I'm not sure about completing the form sent by K-Bank, as I've not heard about any other banks asking for this.

Also, I pay tax in Thailand on my Thai income, and have paid years of tax in my original 'home' country and complete an annual tax return there, so I'm not keen on encouraging taxation of any home country funds I may transfer here.

I've already paid for the accommodation of several boat loads of illegal immigrants in my 'home country' and paid for a submarine or two in Thailand, so I think I've done my bit.

Fifth selection:

I don't believe I am liable for tax, but my (tax exempt income) may be considered assessable IF I were to bring it into Thailand (even thou tax exempt).  So being uncertain if a tax return may be required, I applied for a TIN, but since I am not bringing money into Thailand I was denied a TIN.

(The reason I am not bringing money into Thailand is that I have funds adequate for a few years and I want to wait and see how the tax return submission requirements turn out in practice (for the majority of expatriates who don't physically work in Thailand and for LTR-WP visa holders) before I start bringing money into Thailand again).
