GeminiAdvanced 4-free after upgrading Drive Storage:What's it good for? Nothing/Something?

Dear Folks,

So far, I am not sure what Gemini might be good for.

Does anybody know what time it is?

Here's what I'm talking about:

According to Google-One Drive-Storage Plans, anytime you subscribe to at least 5 TBytes of storage, then Google-One will kick-in this Gemini ADVANCED package.

But what is it GOOD for, anyway?

Why should one care if one has Gemini-Advanced, or NOT?

i REALLY have no idea.

Do you?

Here is my plan, so far, on one of my accounts:

image.png.348619854bb5f5730ade788e1db753eb.png

I have had Gemini-Advanced, already, for about the past four hours...and yet.....

I feel just the same as I did this morning.

The world, my world, is no different than it was....yesterday.

I WILL say, though, that I am happy to have this extra storage that I am paying for, via a monthly subscription....one which I think is extremely cheap and cost effective.

I love Google Drive and Google One.

(It's only the transmorgification of Google SEARCH that I find detestable, these days. And not Google, as a whole.  The Google Tools, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and much more, are a veritable blessing for me, and I am grateful as HECK....believe me...!!!!)

Still, I feel rather unsettled this evening by having been given, for free by Google, this Gemini-Advanced function on my Google One, while also realizing that I know not what benefit it might be to somebody like me.

Can anyone please clarify for me why I should be super-pleased to have received this free gift of Gemini, today, and for the future?

Will it make me money, for example?

Will it make me even MORE intelligent?

Here, on Google Search....I find that.....

Gemini might be able to help members of TV with their RANTS!!!!!

image.png.747868043d314373487b6e0d5509ad58.png

So, maybe this might be good for some TV members, but not for me.

Any good pertinent ideas you can add?

Thank you.

I am worried that I have received a new free gift, yet lack the intelligence to know how to use this intelligence.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Gamma (speaking about Gemini)

Better AN rants are at the very top of my list of priorities.  Now, I can sign with relief.

OK.

Best to leave the RANTING to you, I guess....

With the help of Gemini, of course.

Earlier today I had the sudden urge to refresh my understanding of electron orbits.  My Google search results were preceded by a couple of  AI generated paragraphs summarizing the basic facts about the topic.  It was brief but concise with just the amount of detail I was seeking.  Maybe those paragraphs were composed by Gemini.  A lot of the AI content was plagiarized from other websites.

Well....sorry to burst your bubble...but....

Electrons do not travel in "orbits".

Is this what Gemini told you?

If so...then.....

WRONG

WRONG

From Britannica encylopedia:

Unlike planets orbiting the Sun, electrons cannot be at any arbitrary distance from the nucleus; they can exist only in certain specific locations called allowed orbits.

The electron positions are still called orbits despite not bearing much resemblance to the lay understanding of the term.

I'm referring to the 1P, 2P - 2S, 3P - 3S, etc.

They are not ORBITS.

They are just at different energy levels, of course.

When an electron changes from one energy level to another energy level....then....

A PHUCKING PHOTON is emitted.

This is what I learned back in 1967, when I was in 9th grade.

And, this is what kids learn, today, in 7th grade.

Anyway, here is what Gemini has to say about all this:

Yet, this is still not completely correct.

It's just based on the PARTICLE MODEL, as you know.

Note:  Seems Gemini backs me up on my 9th-Grade understanding of the Boring Bohr Model....

NOTE:  Whatever you ask Gemini, then Gemini always agrees with you....HAHAHAHA....What a JOKE!

I was in the same grade that year.  I don't recall learning that level of detail in that grade.  I think I learned it later.  In the 57 years since, many details of my life have turned to whispers I can only sometimes hear.

This word, "plagiarized", is really not appropriate in the context of an AI assembling a reply to a query.

The older we get, the more whispers we seem to hear.

And, we can never know just how accurate they might be.

Sometimes I classify them as only rumours instead of memories.

Yes.

Also, back to the original Topic, if I may....

Do you believe that this Free Gift-Horse, from Google-One, namely Gemini-Advanced, is of any value?

If so, the what is the value of it.

How can one use it with Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc., to improve the effectiveness of these tools?

=====

What I would like to see is some Gemini-based Function which would help me to find what I am looking for, among my millions of emails, and spreadsheet Sheet data...not to mention help with finding the photos I sometimes need to find, such as ones that help me to support my claims for refunds after buying garbage products in this New World of disposable comsumer goods, including White Goods.....etc.....

Also, can Gemini help me to restore my very old photos to...."like-new" quality, using some AI wizardry?

Or, WHAT per se, is Gemini good for....for me, personally?

This is the question of this Useless Topic, I guess.

Or, is this Topic really useless?

Maybe, ask Gemini, and not Gamma?
