A 24-year-old woman was rescued just in time after attempting to take her own life by consuming insecticide and mothballs in Pattaya early on January 9.

Emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre were alerted to the incident at 00:35. The woman, identified only as Miss Biu was found in a distressed state at Khao Phra Tamnak, Pattaya, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi. She was crying inconsolably and clutching her stomach in pain after consuming some insecticide along with mothballs.

At the scene, rescuers discovered a bottle of water, a packet of mothballs, and the bottle of insecticide, which were collected as evidence. Rescue personnel provided immediate first aid before rushing her to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment, as it was unclear how much of the insecticide she had drank. Her brother and mother stayed close by, offering comfort and support

Miss Biu's mother, identified as Miss Bee, recounted the harrowing moments leading up to the rescue. She explained that she and her son had grown concerned after being unable to reach her daughter. The brother persisted in calling until she finally answered, crying uncontrollably. When pressed for her location, she revealed her whereabouts, prompting her family to search for her immediately.

Upon finding her sitting alone in the dark with the bottle of insecticide in hand, the brother quickly intervened, snatching the bottle away before contacting emergency services.

The mother revealed that this was not the first time her daughter had attempted to harm herself. In a previous incident, Miss Biu had also tried to take her life but was saved in time. The family expressed relief that her brother's timely actions prevented a tragic outcome again this time.

Authorities have urged families to remain vigilant and seek mental health support for loved ones who may be struggling with emotional or psychological difficulties.
