lol ... Thats a joke, right? I think Think banks are required to report certain deposit amounts to the Thai Revenue Department. The RD can then decide if they wish to do something. Its best everyone follow Thai tax law. If the RD is suspicious (based on Thai bank information they are provided), they can call an audit, ask about tax returns if any or if none, .. and compare the information they have received from Thai banks, with the records the foreigner can produce. Its not rocket science, and it may not be perfect, but having an audit could be a major PIA. Its best IMHO to follow Thai tax law. -

And the tone of your post shows that you seem to think anyone who the police want to talk to must be guilty. I have also been questioned and eventually charged - the police acting with the flimiest of evidence yet the CPS chose to prosecute. A weaker person may well have been convicted - I fought and was cleared of all charges. More than that, the judge in my case instructed the police to visit his offices the following week and explain just how they had come to their conclusions as there was some serious malpractice on their part. I'm not going to do my dirty washing in public but suffice to say, I had reported a problem no less than 14 times - all recorded and the police failed to take action - the judge also wanted an explanation of that. I defended myself and asked the police to provide their records of my complaint to the court as evidence. They failed to do that on 2 occasions (I wonder why) and the judge told them that if they failed to do so a third time, he would throw the case out. It was quite amusing listening to the police trying to wriggle out of the situation - the judge clearly realised that I had been 'fitted up' and was having none of it. We cannot assume that a person is guilty of anything without good, factual evidence - that has happened too many times. Way too many 'kangaroo court' members on this forum. -

how many meals do you have on a day? Be fair... in these times when everything is getting more and more expensive is 30 THB nothing. The minimum wages should go up so that people get more to spend every day, every month. That will help the economy although the greedy CEO's claim the opposite. I prefer only monthly payments of at least 14k a month working max 9 hours a day and not more than 6 days a week... Than people are getting paid too in the so many holidays too, and you will see these holidays will be reduced very quickly...but for the low paid people will get a daily wage of around 500 THB a day 13k: 30 days is 466 THB a day -

Should income for visa 800K (retired) or 400K (married) not be taxable?
Can I ask where you get that from? It is very clear in the HMRC digest that the UK state pension can be taxed in Thailand as their is no relief in the DTA. - note I say can. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710099/DT_Digest_April_2018.pdf Go to page 34 Thailand and note 4 on the far right. This has been extensively discussed in the past so I would be interested where your statement is codified in the TRD regs?
