A call out to Meat Pie lovers

Alright you lot, me ol' china's!

Been having a proper craving for a decent meat pie lately, and it's driving me mad! So, I'm putting it out there to the collective wisdom of the Pattaya/Sattahip community: where can a bloke get a proper, good old-fashioned meat pie around here (no restaurants just for home consumption)?

I'm not after any of that fancy gourmet stuff, just a solid, tasty pie, the kind that sticks to your ribs. All varieties welcome – beef, mince, steak, you name it! This is strictly for personal consumption (greedy guts, I know!), so any personal recommendations for quality pies in the area would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers in advance!

  • As an Aussie pie lover......   Tinnies are good; Lady pies are bland although their sausage rolls are good; Four n Twenties are good and sometimes available in Tops; but Vilis

Check out Food Variety on Lazada. Have a few different pies including meat, but not always available.

Couldn't find any Yorkies in BigC-X yesterday, wonder what that is about.

Lady Pies Aussie pies are excellent,they're based in Phuket but you may be able to get them elsewhere.

Chech out Makro because I have bought imported Aussie Four and Twenty pies at various times. They sell out quickly and then you have to wait for the next shipment to arrive

Tinnies are good;

Lady pies are bland although their sausage rolls are good;

Four n Twenties are good and sometimes available in Tops; but

Vilis (South Australian) pies from Villa Market are best. I just wish we could get the full variety as they only stock chunkey beef, chunkey beef with mushrooms or chicken.

Their beef green peppercorn is to die for and is usually the first thing I eat when landing back home!! They also have a Thai green curry pie and many more.

Now I'm hungry.

Caddyshack meat and onion pies...and others....best pies in area IMHO and just 75 baht 👍

Tinnies are half-way decent, albeit with very flakey and buttery pastry. But HUGELY overpriced.

Two hundred Baht for basically a non-gourmet BP Service Station pie is nearly twice what I pay back home in my heavily taxed, heavily regulated, socialist republic of Aotearoa.

The Tasmanian dude must me raking it in. :coffee1:

Papafarang's pies in Kutchap, west of Muang Udon Thani. Well worth the pilgrimage.

Saw some meat pies in Villa yesterday.

What surprised me was they also had scotch eggs at 125 baht each. 🤷‍♂️

And ... 4 tiny sausage rolls for about 150 baht. Really?

Yes I agree, best value pies in our area by far.

i have heard that the  BRITISH  SHOP in Banglamung , Chomburi has a big range of pies and foods,  can anyone confirm this as my supplier died and i am going down to Pattaya to check out a few of these places and stock up.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that I made a post outlining that this shop is not in Pattaya and that it is closing down at the end of the month. Looking for pies in the area, it says.

Maybe I forgot to press the Submit Reply tab....or there is some other skullduggery going on.

I've recently been Oz. A bakery fresh meat pie, depending city, rural etc will generally fetch $9AUS+ (195 Baht+)

Went to the cricket....$14 for rubbish pie & $5.75 (125Baht) for small water.

Seems it's hard to find a fair priced half decent pie in Thailand.🙃🙃

Beggars cant be choosy, if you are Aussie then Tinnys will heal the belly, you kiwi's must be hard to please the pastry is fine and I only buy the pepper steak that has chunky beef and sells around 170, dont know what you paid 200 for, might surprise you what a meat pie costs back home these days, and anyway maybe 4 times a year...I get a taste of home.

I am not British so pies are like an exotic meal to me,  but Tinnies do offer the best meat pies I have tried.

Pepper steak pie is my favourite.
