Okay, if do small work and get well paid. Do you think a regular Thai person asks where the money comes from with the lack of proper education and understanding they have here?
I consider a major downside of retiring in Thailand on retirement extensions. However, I knew about it before I moved here although I didn't realize how I was going to feel about that years later. So "bothering" me doesn't really apply to me, more like resigned to this negative reality. I would recommend to that new people look more closely at othter countries that do offer lifetime residence via retirement though before they become heavily invested in living in Thailand. For example, Philippines, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Panama, Portugal, etc.
This is a very good point.
I spend most of my time in the U.S. in NY, specifically in Westchester County, an affluent district with first class schools, medical facilities, though very high housing costs.
One need only drive forty or fifty miles West or North out into the more rural districts from Westchester and affluence pictures changes dramatically, house prices plummet, public facilities are more basic and the number of late model cars seen declines. People are struggling.
What’s more stark is that this negative gradient of affluence has increased markedly over the past thirty years.
Blue collar workers and increasingly the middle class are having the fruits of their labour stripped from them and passed up to the Billionaires now unquestionably running America.
Ok you were right. I went into the personal details and updated to Thailand address. The repercussions of stating Thailand as my “Country of residence”
will hopefully be minimal. Also there is a hold n the account now until they sort out my new address input.
Cheers
