In an act of selflessness, a father pushed his 6 year old son out of the path of an oncoming vehicle, saving the child’s life, but was struck and injured in the process. The incident, captured by CCTV, took place on February 1, when the father and son were parked near a shop, on a road in Moo 6, Ban Pheng Subdistrict, Pak Phanang District, Nakhon Si Thammarat The footage, shared on TikTok by @nutsudanuansritong, shows the father helping his son onto their motorcycle before entering the shop. When he returned to the vehicle, his son unexpectedly ran into the street. As the child sprinted across the road, a speeding pickup truck was unable to stop in time, closing in on the boy and his father. Instinctively, the father pushed his son out of harm’s way, but was unable to avoid being struck by the vehicle himself. He was knocked to the ground with injuries. The son narrowly escaped without harm. The post quickly gained widespread attention, with many expressing concern for the father’s well-being. In a follow-up, the poster confirmed that the father was not in danger and was recovering in hospital with abrasions and a fractured knee. The incident highlights the split-second decisions parents must make in life-threatening situations, with many viewers commenting on the father’s quick reaction. One user remarked, “It’s a situation you often see in dramas, but when it happens in real life, the shock is unimaginable.” The family is now focusing on the father’s recovery, grateful for the life-saving decision made in the heat of the moment. -- 2025-02-04 ScreenRecording_02-03-2025 17-51-12_1.mp4
