February 8, 20251 yr I’ve been eyeing the CBR250RR for a while now, and although I haven’t had the chance to ride one yet, it seems like a solid option for a new daily banger. It’s got a decent amount of horsepower for a small bike, which should make it nimble and more maneuverable than a bigger bike in slow-moving traffic. Plus, its power output is almost double that of the original CBR250R from 2011, which is a big improvement. That said, the real question is: is it overpriced? Back when the CBR250R was released in Thailand, it was manufactured in Thailand and only around ฿100,000. Now, the latest CBR250RR is made in Malaysia and going for about ฿170,000 new. That seems like a steep price for a small, two-cylinder bike, especially when you can pick up a used CBR650F made in Thailand, with twice the cylinders and double the horsepower, in great condition with low miles for the same money. So, while the CBR250RR is undoubtedly a fun and capable bike, and a good size for Thailand in general, I can’t help but wonder if it’s really worth the premium price tag when bigger, more powerful options are available for the same cost.
February 8, 20251 yr Malaysia buit bike @ Bt.170K ? Honda Thaiiland website.. https://www.thaihonda.co.th/honda/motorcycle/sport/cbr250rr
February 8, 20251 yr 170k for a 250cc ... No I could deal with this though. A better value, and probably cost less. Might want to wait, and see what the price for the FELO TOOZ will be. Impressive specs: 200 kph / 725 kms range. Also electric ...
February 8, 20251 yr Back in the UK no one would ride one that small, looks like a mickey mouse 600cc bike

Huge advantage for a place like Thailand. Nobody wants to be riding a big sized 650cc, four cylinder bike in the heat in Thailand on a daily unless you're a mad dog or an Englishman.
February 9, 20251 yr Author There are quite a lot of used ones though on Facebook marketplace, recent years, with fairly low mileage and appear to be in excellent condition ranging from ฿100,000-฿140,000. No idea, though, if all of the listings are legit.

I would have though a 600 would be atleast double that.

Most traffic fatalities are not reported in the news including farangs and other foreigners. If they were then the news sites would be flooded with about fifty of those accounts each day.

February 9, 20251 yr I prefer in line 4's, much smoother and the sound is so much better. So if money wasn't an issue, I'd have one of these. Only thing that puts me off is the weight at 180 kg.

I would look a the maintanance and service scedule for that bike, and I guess it is every 2k or so? Great bike if you want to take it to the tracks.

February 9, 20251 yr I think a lot depends one where and how you use your bike and how much of the young racer is still in you. I have a Suzuki Raider 150 which is perfect for clogged streets. It will be hard to find anything more nimble and that thing still have 16HP or so which is enough to accelerate fast up to about 100. And then I have a KTM Duke 390, a little bigger and with over 40 HP but compared to other bikes still nimble. When I go for a trip of at least a few km on a bigger street, then normally I use the KTM because it is more comfortable, better brakes, better light, etc. In bad traffic the KTM has no chance keeping up with the Raider. 16HP is enough for inside town, and until now I didn't want much more power on my few trips out of the city center. If I would make longer 100km+ trips, then I guess I would look for a bigger bike. What do you want to use your bike for? And what do you have now and what do you expect should change?
February 9, 20251 yr Could have bought a 650cc big bike for 250K THB or 80K more maybe 10 years back. 170K is damn steep for a 250cc.
