Guesthouse in downtown Hua hin for a Family 1000 baht/night range

Looking to stay a week in Hua hin with an 8 year old. Any recommend a good guesthouse downtown Hua hin that has larger rooms?  Something close to the beach. 
 

 Hotels getting too expensive these days.

Have you looked at google maps or Agoda? Cheapest options are away from the beach.

Don't know what 'downtown' is, but most things are within walking distance, or short hop from the baht bus route on Phetkasem Rd.

 

Try Ree Raa Resort, (resort is a stretch) though not sure what they consider a child (age) vs an adult.  Also across the street, from BluPort Mall for reasonable priced dining in their food court, in AC comfort.

We find calling direct is cheaper some times, and higher priced durning weekends.

Airbnb.  We stayed in a small but comfortable studio (with balcony) in central HH, 5 mins walk from the night market and about 10-15 mins walk to the beach.  Kitchen, pool, small (not very good) gym.

 

It cost approx 700 THB/night.  Room had aircon, bathrobes, cooking utensils, kettle, coffee, laundry on site.

You think people can't find airbnb places on the website themself? Then secondly you mention something of a year ago that was airbnb priced, have you even checked their current rates? Pretty sure it is more by now and/or fully booked otherwise. You talk about just 1 place / unit.

 

This is how so many conflicting as well as fantasy stories exist surrounding living in Thailand and the real costs as well.
