I will be travelling soon with a 90 day Non-O visa and hoping to transfer to multi entry year long visa at Immigration Office.

Can I travel on a single ticket as I don't have firm plans about precise return date? Will it raise eyebrows as I enter please? (I normally travel business class if that makes any difference).

On both my gf's visits to UK she was  held up for questioning for just this reason. Is this likely to happen to an old farang travelling in the opposite direction?

Thanks in advance for any useful information.

With a visa (single entry Non O) you will not be asked for return/onward flight by airline at departure or immigration upon entry to Thailand.

Assume it's eVisa. Make sure you print out hard copy.

Show that to airline staff at check in and immigration upon arrival at passport control.

BTW: You will enter on the Non O and be given a 90 day permission of stay stamp.

In the last 30 days of that stamp you will obtain a 12 month extension. It's NOT a Visa.

In order to exit and reenter Thailand you will purchase a reentry permit.

Available as Single reentry 1000b

OR Multiple reentry 3800b

The reentry permit can be obtained at local immigration office or airport on departure.

Aside: do you have a Thai bank account in your name only?

Just to add that on the day you apply for the extension you will need to have had ฿800k in your account for 2 months.

Thanks very much to you both.

The previous thread I began dealt with the difficulty of getting a multi-entry visa.

This enquiry is simply to check whether I would have any issues entering the country on a non-O without an onward flight.

I have resigned myself to keeping at least 800kB in my personal BKK Bank account at all times.

Assuming I will need an up to date bank book for this task. The book I opened the account with may well be lost unfortunately. Also the branch I used to open the account has closed. I assume my Thai gf will be able to sweet talk another branch.

Apologies my vocabulary was a bit loose. I hope to obtain a multi entry extension to my visa after 60 days.

Will this give me a year following the application (ie one year + 60, 70, 80 or so days), perhaps one from entry or even one year since visa issue?

Yes you will.  Unless they have already closed your account they will have moved it to a nearby branch.  When you go to that branch to resurrect the account you should not need any more than your current passport and if you have it the one used to open the account.  Presumably you do have some record of the account number at least?  I did a very similar exercise a couple of years ago, no girlfriend required.  I would call their customer service people first, they were amazingly helpful in my case.

Many do that and it's a good option.

Since you have the Non O you can just transfer the 800k into Thai bank account.

GF has nothing to do with it. If you need to open bank account that's possible as you have Non O entry.

Bank may require a "certificate of residence"

I keep typing same information and for some reason there is confusion.

There is NO Multi Entry extension.

There is a 12 month extension of your permission of stay.

If you wish to exit and reenter Thailand during that permission of stay you need to buy a reentry permit. Simple.

You will get a 1 year extension of stay.  If you want to leave and return within that year you will need a re entry permit.  That's all there is to it.

No, It will be 1 year from the expiry of the 90 day entry you get on arrival.

Not sure if this exactly answer your Q, but I arrived on a 60 day visa exempt with no onward travel and was not asked about it. (I then later applied at Immigration to convert the 60 day exepmt to an O visa with intention of a retirement extension). I guess since you already have an O visa it shouldn't be an issue (O or O-A?)

That can be luck of the draw.

The OP has a Visa so onward flight is not required.

Thanks to all contributors here. It sounds like it should be relatively easy.

It's a bit belt and braces on my part but I know the smiles can be somewhat absent in the immigration offices of LoS.
