A 45-year-old former teacher who had been missing for nearly a month was found dead in her car at a hospital car park in Nong Suea district, Pathum Thani, raising suspicions among her family regarding the circumstances of her death.

The deceased, identified as Ms. Narumon Sodsai, known as “Gift”, had resigned from her teaching position five months ago and had since been working at a company in Thanyaburi. On 26 January, she left home at 06:00, driving her silver Toyota Vios to work as usual. However, she never returned home and had been unreachable by family members ever since.

Her mother, Mrs. Urai Sodsai, 63, initially attempted to call her for the first two days but received no response. Concerned, she filed a missing persons report at Nong Suea Police Station and contacted relatives, but no one had seen or heard from Narumon.

On 24 February, police informed Mrs. Urai that her daughter’s car had been found parked at the car park of Nong Suea Hospital. Initially, she hoped her daughter was alive and possibly unwell, but upon arriving at the scene, she was devastated to learn that Narumon had been found dead inside the vehicle.

Authorities believe the woman had been dead for several days, but the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. However, her family questions the circumstances, particularly why she was found lying in the back seat rather than in the driver’s seat.

Mrs. Urai has requested to see CCTV footage from the hospital to establish when her daughter arrived, whether she was alone, and what happened in the final moments before her death. She also raised concerns over whether her daughter’s known medical condition, prone to shortness of breath, could have been a factor or if there was another cause.

Narumon’s uncle, Mr. Wit Jui Muang Sri, 60, expressed similar concerns, stating that the final autopsy results would take some time. He and other relatives want police to examine CCTV footage to determine when the car entered the hospital grounds and whether Narumon died shortly after arriving or later.

Meanwhile, Narumon’s body has been taken to Wat Khlong Kao temple in Nong Suea for religious rites, with her funeral scheduled for 27 February. Authorities continue to investigate the case to provide answers to the grieving family.

How can that be? They will bury her without a final autopsy result?
