For me, apart from the fact that I'm not sure if it's worthwhile, if I want to explore this world, what are the best alternatives to smoking the stuff?

I was thinking, due to legal and other restrictions, not to mention bringing attention to yourself, where you smoke can be pretty restrictive.

Not to mention health issues due to smoking.

What are the best alternatives to smoking Cannabis?

If I consume orally, which are best value alternatives in Thailand to orally consume it?

I've heard of Gummies, but felt oil drops might be better value.

Looking for advice.

Sounds cool.

Wanted to avoid using the lungs.

Significantly milder than smoking as the herb isn't burned.

However apparantly the vapes themselves are illegal.

Haven't visited since the pandemic.

Would hate to break any local laws and be excluded from future visits. 😟

I use a combination of dry herb vaping and consuming edible cannabis-infused oil that I make myself.

Thanks H.

Very informative.

For the traveler, who might visit infrequently, wouldn't setting up be an issue?

Is there product commercially available which is good value and ready to go?

And the vaping device, is that just a standard vaping pipe, readily available?

What material is commercially available which you'd class as "dry herb"?

How do you prepare it for use in a vaping pipe?

Is there a good oil, already decarboxilated, commercially available in Thailand?

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but cannabis oil with any amount of THC that would actually get you high is very, very illegal,  and the law on that has never been changed. Much more severe an issue than dry herb vapes. As far as enforcement on either of those things, that's another thing, but people should at least be aware of the situation.

All this is new to me.

Do they actually sell vapes ready to go into a vape pipe?

Are these vapes legal vs oil?

Or should I have asked "what product do I need to achieve  "dry herb vaping"?

Hi Debbie, widely available and advertised on Facebook, line groups and by registered companies with licenses.

Gummies, cookies, chocolates and cakes also.

There was a poster on here @SamuiGrower that went into great details about the myths and realities of vaping. In regards to health and not legslity in thailand.

He didn't post too much so finding his comments will be easy.

Well worth checking out.

Edibles and micro dosing would be good for someone like you.

Have you ever consumed cannabis before?

What prompted this desire for "exploration"?

Is cannabis available in your home country?

Do you have any cannabis-savvy friends, here or at home, who could introduce/monitor your initial forrays?

Those are good questions. I think once cannabis became legal in Thailand, a lot of cannabis-curious people came out of the woodwork. Many have probably never tried it before, or if they did, maybe only once or twice as teenagers. Most of them are likely just traveling or staying short-term in Thailand and come from countries where cannabis is either not readily available, quite expensive, or outright illegal. Some may not know where to get it back home, while others might be wary of buying it on the black market. On top of that, their social circles are probably made up of people in similar situations, meaning they do not have anyone to help guide them through their first experience.

With that in mind, the best option for someone like that might be to find a relaxed cannabis shop in Thailand that has a comfortable space to sit, consume, and ease into the experience. Being around other users in that kind of setting could help them feel more at ease and offer some guidance if needed, of course it depends on the type of other people that are around. But tiptoeing in with a small dose for the first few times is always the best way to go, at least until your brain gets a better understanding of what the psychoactive effects are all about.

High B.

I appreciate your help.

Being a fan of Don Corleone, I've adopted some of his advise.

He said:  “Santino, never let anyone outside the Family know what you are thinking".

Please take this as lighthearted humour. 🙂

I think it's more about taking the opportunity due to the legal aspect when in the country.

I know, if I partake it'll only be a ST thing.

Have other plans for my life.

Never liked the inhalation side of things.

You've indicated dry herb vaping is vastly healthier but I'm pretty uncomfortable using my lungs.

And the amount of times I'll use won't justify the cost of the vape device.

I'll probably get chewed out by some forum members, but I thought eating without decarboxylating might be a way.

Too short a time to get involved with equipment and processes involved.

Also I understand most of the THC content won't be absorbed.

Was thinking just finely chop some bud, mix it with olive oil and down the hatch.

No smell, and as I'd only make up what is immediately eaten, no incriminating evidence.

Also no paraphernalia to deal this, and cool with the law.

Any thoughts?

AFAIK, decarbing takes place with heat, so heating the herbs in olive oil will have a similar effect. Just allow it to cool down before intake 🙂

Personally I had good results with simply mixing it with yoghurt way back when, but often it's not particularly clean stuff.

If you want to DIY, my suggestion, if you have any heating implements at home(even a microwave) is to buy a takeaway soup(anything with a bit of fat in it), crumble your herbs within and reheat . I think this is the traditional local way. Though don't quote me on that.

've never been there myself, but I've been meaning to go check it out some day. The people who set it up are originally from Amsterdam I believe. I think they also have shops in Holland and I've heard good things about the place.

It's a couple of French guys running it but I know that the operatorr is good friends with the guy who started royal queen.

Both good guys.

Order some beverages and just relax.

I grew up in an environment filled with fear of coming under the attention of the law.

I can very easily become paranoid because of it.

Partly why I'm coming across the way I do.

One thing I'd like to say:  Great community here. Thanks for all your guidance.

When I next make it to Bangkok, will definitely be dropping in on Royal Queen Seeds.  🙂

I know e-cigs are illegal and maybe also oil vaporisers, but not sure dry herb vaporisers are illegal. However spending money on a vaporiser just to try weed for the first time is a bit of a jump. If you never tried using weed try smoking joints a few times. If you like it then search for a vaporiser that suits you - there are so many types and brands in a wide range of prices.

As for were to use - not allowed in public basically.

Not sure you knows or not, there is a device called Dynavap (among others) that you can smoke cannabis flowers or trims (the best way IMO) without any fumes or smoke, it's almost clear what you breath. it doesnt heat to the burning temperature as burning a joint, just high enough to vaporize the oils in terpenes giving you full flavor and effect.

It's very discrete and could pass easily smoking on the street because there is nothing visible coming out of your mouth 😄

The flavors: Amazing, you get to really tell the hidden flavors of each strain, very pronounced! on of my favorite flavor is this strain called Chocolate Mint, a good indica, the chocolate and mint flavors are insanely good.

The High: very fast and very strong, with 1 dynavap filled, I can do 3-4 heating sessions for full extraction. you can definitely get high with just 0.1g using a dynavap.

The cost: Expensive, usually 3500 baht here, totally worth it. I have a collection of them, just amazing tech.

Methods: you can use a lighter or an induction heater, i made my own induction heater with 3x 18650 batteries, super portable too!

Lighter takes 6-8 seconds, induction heater just 3 seconds. It's the ultimate micro-dosing device!

Pros: no bad smell, no bad breath, amazing flavors, great high, I buy cheap indoors trims, you can save a lot of money. perfect for micro-dosing.

Cons: not cheap, import from USA only.

just buy cheap weed, then decarb them yourself

I buy those that sells like 100gr for 300 baht or something, trims, left overs, super cheap from indoors growers thou. I dont like greenhouse ones.

Just put in the oven at 100C and leave it for 1 hour. Done. if you dont have oven, get one for 900 baht!

I do this all the time, and just eat it with a spoon if you dont fancy making cannabutter or oil extracts.

works amazing and super strong, if you over eat it you will be in serious high for a whole day!
