snoop1130 Posted yesterday at 12:21 PM Posted yesterday at 12:21 PM Photo via Facebook/ เหยี่ยวข่าว ภูเก็ต Newshawk Phuket A Thai man in Phuket became the latest victim of a hit-and-run incident involving a foreign motorcyclist, causing a stir on social media. The accident occurred on February 26 at 7:50 AM outside Phuket Palace Condominium in Patong. The Thai man's call for help went viral as he sought public assistance in identifying the elusive foreign driver. Using the Facebook page Newshawk Phuket, he asked the community to share any dashcam footage. He's particularly interested in a grey Yamaha TMAX, the vehicle driven by the foreigner, whose registration number remains unknown. CCTV screenshots reveal the foreign motorcyclist hitting the Thai man's motorcycle during a U-turn. This incident echoes an alarming pattern, as shared by Thai netizens who fear justice might slip away. Previous cases have seen foreign culprits evade consequences, with claims they returned to their home countries before prosecution. This skepticism is rooted in recent events, including an incident earlier this month when another foreign motorcyclist fled Thailand after injuring a Thai pedestrian in a similar scenario. Despite having the identity details from the rental service for the bike involved in the earlier case, authorities have yet to make any arrests. The community now waits to see if this new instance will break the trend of accountability evasions or add to growing frustrations, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-02-27 2

connda Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM Posted yesterday at 12:50 PM Here's the video. The guy in the white shirt was driving on the wrong side of the road (right-hand lane) and T-boned the motorcycle making the turn - traffic should be coming at you in the right-hand land, not from behind you. Yep - dude driving in the wrong lane is 100% at fault. Hope they find him.

He was making a right-hand turn from the left-lane of a dual carriage-way. Basically got hit from a driver behind him driving on the wrong side of the road. 1

Yeah, most members here are unfortunately biased when it comes protecting the foreigner. They just don´t understand we are guests here, and should understand how people do things in Thailand. Not the other way around. 2

Don't project your own fear and incompetence on others. You are clearly too much of a wus to ride a bike, others might be perfectly competent. As for the rest of Thailand, they mostly ride because they have no choice; their intelligence is not a factor. 1 3

phil2407 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago From the road markings looks like the guy turned left & got hit

Well my wife and I must be some of your idiots as we both ride our big bikes in Thailand. You have to be very careful as you do when riding anywhere and always expect idiots in every vehicle, always wear armour, gloves proper jacket & trousers and helmet! There are some beautiful roads with breath-taking views all over Thailand.
black tabby12345 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Despite having the identity details from the rental service for the bike involved in the earlier case, authorities have yet to make any arrests --------------------------------------- I bet that ass*ole is already outside Thai police's reach; promptly departed from this kingdom(unless restrained by any authorities).
