Renewing my British Passport at VFS Global - payment in cash?
Depends on the OP's UK bank, of course, but mine (Co-op) has never required me to activate replacement debit and credit cards which they send to my Thai address. Indeed, the 16-digit numbers remain the same, the only things changing are the 3-digit CVC on the back of the card plus, of course, the validity dates. But even if this were also the case for @cliveshep, I would still strongly advise him to initiate a token payment with his replacement card in due course (perhaps in the form of a Wise transfer?) so as to ensure that any potential problems with using it for his passport renewal payment were identified (and, hopefully, resolved) beforehand. -

10 year LTR visa is 50,000 baht and no 90 day reports and exempt from Thailand taxes owed and you can get a work permit if desired. I don’t see anyone close to age 50 and above paying anything close to 6 million baht now that the LTR visa is available. I prefer the LTR visa and its benefits and cost over any and all the various Thai Elite Visas. -

Is it possible Trump is trying to sabotage the world economy?
No, most emphatically not. During my long, if not particularly glorious service in the army I served in a number of wars and conflicts. ( two of them American led, and both of which were essentially a waste of blood and treasure). Unlike many here I am aware of the horrors of war, and have seen it's effects upon soldiers and civilians. I come from a society (Europe), which has twice been ripped apart by the bloody horrors of war. I am also, as a former soldier and a student of history aware that there are times, terrible as it is, when one has to fight to prevent an even greater evil. Ukraine is one of those, simply because if Putin gets what he wants in Ukraine he will go on to unleash still greater horrors on the Baltic and Eastern Europe. To reduce the whole arguement to such glib political sloganeering as "Are you not a pro war guy" with a silly little emoji is silly, demeaning to the victims of war, demeaning to those who have fought, and deeply offensive. You should be ashamed of yourself.
