I currently have a Samsung phone which I only use on the internet when linked to my home wi-fi. If I switch my AIS service to allow internet usage when away from home I understand that I will need to get a new number. Is there a way that if one of my  old contacts   tries to contact to me via the old number they will automatically be transferred to my new one. I am 83  y.o. so please be gentle with your replies.

Not sure why you have to get a new number, if you have an old number (unless of course you lost it from not topping up).

Anyway if you do get a new number, then the old number, and your contacts on that number are consigned to the dark depths (there is no automatic transference). You will need to inform your old contacts individually of your new number.

Hope that's gentle enough..😀

You mean you are keeping the same AIS SIM card in the phone (not changing it as @couchpotato said) and simply turning on internet access through AIS rather than home wifi. So all your phone numbers stay the same and everyone can call you on your existing number when making phone calls.

You don't need to get a new number, you have both wifi and mobile data on, when at home it will connect to wifi, when not at home it will use mobile data, what you may need is a mobile data package from AIS, call them.

If your phone has two sims then you could keep your existing sim but also buy a new 12 month data sim from Lazada Shopee etc

So you think I could  keep my  same number but get my AIS package  to include WI FI. Thank you.

If you had of given that detail in your OP, then we could have given you better/quicker answers.

But yes get Internet added to your SIM package and away you go..happy surfing.

Sorry if my 83 y.o. brain didn't meet your high standards.
