New Passport - What documents do I need for Stamp Transfer at Chaeng Wattana

I have two questions about my situation with my new passport. I have a 90-day report due Mid March, two weeks from now. I just called immigration and they said I need to transfer stamps from old passport to new passport before I can do a 90-day report.

First question, can I do the 90 day report with the old passport? The old American passport has been punched to show it is cancelled, so can I really do the 90 day report online or at the immigration office, or will I have a problem when I go to do my retirement visa renewal in July for my renewal date in August?

Second question, if I can not use my old passport and I have to transfer stamps what is the required documentation? The second page of the Stamp Transfer form lists some requirements, copy of old and new passport, last entry, last visa stamp. When I called immigration they said I need bank information also. Here's where I'm not sure what they require. For my last visa extension at Chaeng Wattana I used 65,000/method method. For this I have to go to Bangkok bank with each credit advice for the last 12 months and they generate a letter (not "The Bank Statement" that shows I own the account, which I have to get separately). Would I need to go back to Bangkok Bank with the last 7 credit advices, or for the last 12 months  My last retirement visa extension was in July 2024. I had planned to change to the 800,000 in a bank account method for my next extension in July. I made a foreign transfer of 800,000 baht into my account back in June of 2024. Can I show this instead? Do I just need copy of my bank book and the "Bank Statement" for this method?

Basically what do they require for this partial period to show I am still in compliance with bank requirements?

Here is form to transfer stamps and visa information.

https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6

The required docs are listed below form.

Don't be concerned if you do not have embassy letter.

Regarding TM47...best to transfer stamps first then go to 90 report desks for Report.

(in that order)

NOTE: CW are now requesting bankbook photocopies back to date of current extension and bankbook updated.

This is not listed as required on the form so be prepared.

EDIT: Sorry just reread your OP.

Seems you are using income method for extensions retirement.

Suggest obtain bank statement from date of last extension up to few days prior to attending immigration.

Dr Jack, thanks for your reply. Last extension I used income method, this coming extension I want to use 800,000 deposit method. Do you think I would be OK to show back in June 2024 a deposit of 800,000, a copy of my bank book, and "Bank Statement". My stay expire date was Aug 9, 2024.

OR are you saying I have to show I am still showing income transfer every month since my last visa extension, which I do have, but then I have to go back to Bangkok Bank in Silom to get a separate statement showing that i have international transfers for each month and show the credit advices for each month. I'm really hoping I can just show 800,000 deposit back in June 2024 along with the current bank book and bank statement.

You obtained your current extension using income method.

To change to money in bank method thinking  immigration will want to you to show compliance with income method up till date of next extension+ 800k in bank for 2 months prior to application.

Note: the immigration office will determine what they require.

Since you are attending immigration for stamp transfer it's a good chance to check with them what they want for the change.

The stamp transfers are done at the extension desks L32-34 area.

The lady you would ideally chat with is head and sits to rear desk in that area.

I'm currently doing the opposite to you. Changing from money in bank to monthly transfers.

To be 100% covered I elected to run both methods in tandem from date of previous extension.

Funny, when I had my new passport, I went to CM immigration.  Forms all filled outside under the tent, IO said run around to the TM30 office first (they open 15 minutes prior to immigration, then I returned, my queue number was called but at the window, the IO said oh, just walk around to the 90-day drive in window and do your 90-day report first, then come back, no waiting just walk up to the window and hand me your passport which I did, and then I was sent in to the IO for transfer of stamps .  But like we have learned, each immigration is a power unto themselves only.

You DO need to transfer the stamps before you do your next 90 day report

You might as well "make a day of it" and go get the stamps moved, then file a 90 day report in person to get the new passport in the system

PLUS you'll need to file a new TM30 with the new passport number or you will not be able to do 90 day reporting online

you have the transfer stamp form and you need all the copies it says

You also need to update your bank book the date you apply (no bank letter needed) and make a copy of the first page (w/your name account #) and then the last page that shows the balance

You most likely won't need the credit advice print outs to show you've been transferring in a minimum of 65K baht a month since your last extension BUT if you have them take them 🙂

And that's exactly what you would do
You would continue to meet the banked money method seasoning requirements of the current extension you're on (800K baht in the bank for 3 months after the extension is issued and then the balance can't go below 400K baht the rest of the year) AND you'd also be transferring in a minimum of 65K baht a month, each month, every month so you can use monthly income method for the next yearly extension

I would pull the balance in your account down to UNDER 800K after the 3 months so they're not tempted to just give you the extension based on banked money again next year (having it under that 800K but above the 400k minimum required balance means they HAVE to accept the monthly income method by international transfers 🙂
