Maybe I lost the plot.

There are 9 of them, one is a woman, one is the suspect, so seven able bodied men aren't able to in some way restrain and control the suspect?

I'm assuming this isn't some mass murderer psycho who is going to kill everyone in their sleep, but some guy thats gone a little bat sh***t crazy down there

There's news on X that he has apologized and promised not to do anything to the others.

I've always iamgined what it would be like if I lived in one of those stations during wimter. Looks like back in 1982 smoking regs were more relaxed I would hate to have to go outside at  minus forty to have a fag

Maybe the guy is Black and the team is full of left-wing idiots so they don't want to do anything about it?

Why would they take a rap singer, soccer player or basketball star to Antarctica?

Have you ever actually taken an aggressive individual out? It's only in movies that would work. For starters, it's unlikely any of them know how to fight a guy that could thrash them, and without training they will have no chance of working as a team to take him out.

That's only the first step- if they did manage to restrain him, what happens then?

Short of termination or S A spending millions to rescue them, it's a puzzle for sure.

A team of South African scientists stationed at the isolated Sanae IV Antarctic base has made a desperate plea for rescue after a researcher allegedly attacked colleagues and threatened to kill one of them. With ten months remaining before they can be evacuated, the group is stranded 2,500 miles from home, completely cut off by extreme weather and shifting ice floes.

The distressing message, which surfaced through South Africa’sTimes, painted a picture of a team living in constant fear—not of the harsh Antarctic conditions, but of one of their own. “Regrettably, [his] behaviour has escalated to a point that is deeply disturbing,” the email stated.

“Specifically, he physically assaulted [name withheld], which is a grave violation of personal safety and workplace norms.” The email also claimed that the individual had threatened to kill a team member, further heightening the tension within the isolated group. “I remain deeply concerned about my own safety, constantly wondering if I might become the next victim,” the author wrote.

Even more disturbing, the researcher in question was accused of sexually assaulting another team member. “His behaviour has become increasingly egregious, and I am experiencing significant difficulty in feeling secure in his presence,” the message continued. “It is imperative that immediate action is taken to ensure my safety and the safety of all employees.”
