Why did you choose BKK to live.IIf you don’t like it you shouldn’t be living there

I agree SoCal, that's why I bought a 2 storey house in a large estate in Nong Chok 38 kms from Bangkok City but still part of Bangkok. It's so peaceful, fresh air in the mornings and the natives are very friendly. I'm in my holiday condo in Pattaya at the moment and it's full of cretins from up north and now the Russians are muscling in.

Dangerous, low hanging canopies.

why dont they just use the traffic light system like in western countries instead of these silly pedestrian crossings?

and give tickets if you cross the red light.

My brother lives in Bangkok. I feel so bad for him but he feels it's the best place to be in Thailand for his business. You couldn't pay me to live there.

Did I forget anything important?

1. I don't hang out in Sukhumvit, so not a problem.

2. Occasionally a problem in my building, but rare.

3. Actually, I see courtesy at the crossing I use.

4. Have never seen an "Arab" where I live (Ratchayothin)

5. No touts here.

6. The few soi dogs in this area are placid and nice.

7. Not too much construction here, and what there is has been quite nice.

8. No expat bar clowns here.

9. Temples here are nearly 100% Thai and operate as such.

10. We get a little flooding in some sois around here, but mine does not flood.

Fact is, you have described Sukhumvit. Not a part of Bangkok I would recommend for

anything except the occasional night out. I find Ratchayothin to be a fantastic place to

hang out, and there are many other places in Bangkok that are equally nice.

555, you're way outnumbered here.

Should change the forum name from asean now to grumpy old man's forum.

Full of wingers and whiners, moaners and complainers.

Why don't you learn how to look both ways before attempting to cross. The lighted crossings give a false sense of security and are dangerous.

I've never lived in BKK, but owned rental condo's there

Hated every minute I spent there.

Traffic, pollution, and lets let not mention the shi'''''t in  the klongs

I  just don't like the place

If I wanted big city stuff, NYC or LA  or basically anywhere in the West would be a better option

Because of all the myriad of things Thailand has adopted from the west, that is one of them they didn't.

Along with the assorted brown nosers, those who favor locals over their own kind, and stick up for them and make excuses for their bad behavior. And by the way, you're way outnumbered here also, by a huge margin.

That's because this forum is a refuge for the maladjusted.

add .....

many small shops are like this  :

It's really annoying when your in a shop and most items don't have a price on them so you have to ask the cashier every time ' how much is this '  .....    and then they are pissed off if you don't buy something.

It's like your not suppose to ask the price, just buy it.   Lol

That and Soi dogs ....    that's about it.

Agree.

Also many who lack self-awareness, the "self-unaware???" LOL.

Others who are desperate for connection and post "we" statements referring to the "brotherhood" of AN members. Maybe the saddest of all.

i live on sukhumvit soi 11.

What pisses me off is that I can buy a bag of coke or a woman's time almost effortlessly but it is getting harder and harder to buy fresh fruit, authentic Thai streetfood, or a vape.
