Picture captured from CCTV. A man disguised as a food delivery worker staged a daring gold heist at a jewellery store inside a shopping mall in Bangkok, making off with six gold necklaces weighing a total of 30 baht and valued at approximately 1.5 million baht. The robbery occurred at 11:36 on 25 March, at the Aurora Gold Shop inside Big C Supercenter Phetkasem 1, located on Phetkasem Soi 65, Lak Song, Bang Khae. Authorities from Phetkasem Police Station, led by Pol. Lt. Tiratchayapong Rattanathamsophonkun and Pol. Col. Pramote Chanboonkaew, along with forensic officers and investigators, rushed to the scene. A mall security guard witnessed the robbery and pursued the suspect, causing him to drop 13 gold necklaces as he ran through the shopping centre and out onto the street. The thief managed to escape with six necklaces, each weighing five baht, before shedding his green jacket, white shoulder bag, and black gloves near a rubbish bin close to Phetkasem Soi 67. Police suspect he had a motorbike parked nearby and used it to flee the scene. Following the incident, police issued an alert to intercept the suspect, but he remains at large. Son Kills Father in Fit of Rage, Regrets His Actions and Seeks Redemption in Next Life
Picture courtesy of CH3 An incident unfolded in Nakhon Si Thammarat on March 25, when a 25-year-old man, identified as Donusorn, brutally killed his father with an axe during a heated argument at their home in the village of Kanabnak, Pak Phanang District. At approximately 12:00, authorities were alerted to a distressing scene at the family home, where they discovered the lifeless body of 47-year-old Saisan. The victim was found face down, surrounded by blood, with severe head and facial injuries. Donusorn, the only son of the deceased, was apprehended by police at the scene, where he was found holding the weapon used in the attack. The initial investigation revealed that Donusorn had been drinking alcohol with friends the previous night until nearly dawn. Upon returning home, he engaged in a violent argument with his father. In a fit of rage, Donusorn struck his father on the head with the axe, killing him instantly. Afterwards, Donusorn appeared to have a moment of remorse. He reportedly left the house and confided in a neighbour, admitting to the murder. The neighbour subsequently alerted local authorities and the body was soon discovered by police. Donusorn, who has a known history of drug involvement, initially gave contradictory statements to investigators but eventually explained that his outburst stemmed from the frequent arguments he had with his father. He confessed to feeling intense anger and, in his drunken state, lashed out, resulting in his father’s death. In a deeply remorseful statement, Donusorn expressed his regret, stating, “I am truly sorry for what I did. I hope in the next life we can be father and son again. I promise to be a better son.” Following the incident, police conducted a urine test on Donusorn, which revealed traces of drugs, leading to further charges for substance abuse in addition to the murder of his father. As investigations continue, authorities are working to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding the altercation. -- 2025-03-26 -
