Police have detained a 36-year-old Israeli man at Phuket International Airport for allegedly sexually assaulting a 19-year-old Finnish woman on Koh Samui before attempting to flee the country. 
 

The suspect, identified as David Eisa, was apprehended by officers from the Provincial Police Region 8 Investigation Division and Bo Phut Police Station. He was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Koh Samui Provincial Court for ‘rape by coercion and assault’, with the victim reportedly unable to resist due to her condition.

 

 

The case stems from a complaint filed by Sophia the Finnish victim, on 30th March. She reported that on the night of 29th March, she had been dining at a beachfront restaurant in Bo Phut subdistrict, with two male friends. Later, she went for a walk along the shore with a group of Danish men before returning to her table, where she found two additional women, both strangers, joining the group.  
 

After visiting the restroom, the victim encountered the suspect near the entrance. Due to intoxication, her recollection was unclear, but she recalled being led to a beachside seating area where the man allegedly, kissed her, groped her breasts and vagina, before forcing her into oral sex despite her protests.  
 

Once freed, she sought help from friends, who escorted her to Bo Phut Police Station to file a report. Authorities traced the suspect to Phuket Airport, where he was arrested while attempting to leave Thailand.  
 

The investigation continues, with potential additional charges pending forensic evidence.

Would be interesting to know where it took place on the beach as if in fisherman's village the beach is usually lit up and a lot of places have CCTV facing the beach as it's easiest way to break into a bar/ restaurant.

Perv good to see a crackdown on something that makes sense, anyone who comes to Thailand to sexually assault anyone or be with underage girls needs to go to the monkey house after the asylum, there are enough beautiful, eligible, legal and available ladies here already, can understand financial complaints sometimes people have with Thai partners but that happens in any country in the world so no reason to go out and be a leech on our host society and a danger to girls or women in general - idiot deserves what happens to him

Yes. I remember  a Channel 4 program decades ago about  researchers findings  - they were surprised as the rapists chose "weak" victims not sexy ones. It's all about power.

Very poor job of looking out for her by her Finnish friends…or is this the case that she was traveling alone and just met up with a group of acquaintances who only have their own self interests in mind…which is actually the case with solo independent travelers…

 

in my day of solo traveling the world in my 20’s and 30’s, common sense and looking out for others were prevalent at hostels etc maybe today’s generation lacks those traits?
