Air India's High-Flyer Faces Bangkok Pee Probe: Chaos in Clouds

A shocking mid-air incident has left Air India in a sticky situation once more, as a business class passenger allegedly urinated on a fellow traveller on a flight to Bangkok. The airborne fiasco took place on Air India flight AI 2336 from New Delhi to Bangkok on April 9, just as the aircraft was gearing up for landing.

Police are now investigating the intoxicated passenger accused of the bizarre act, having completely bypassed the fully functional onboard lavatories.

The victim of the incident, reportedly a managing director, was understandably distressed by the unexpected shower, while the crew rushed to address the unsettling episode.

Reports suggest the accused passenger had consumed alcohol, although a friend claimed he was not overly intoxicated. In the aftermath, Air India assured that a committee would evaluate whether the passenger should face a lifelong ban from the airline.

They confirmed that while crew assistance was extended to the aggrieved party for filing a complaint in Bangkok, it was declined.

India’s Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu pledged to take necessary action if misconduct is found. "Whenever these kinds of incidents happen, the ministry takes note," he stated.

This latest scandal follows a series of similar incidents that have plagued Air India, including a 2022 case involving a former banker soiling a fellow passenger and a March 2023 episode where a student misbehaved on an American Airlines flight. Both previous incidents resulted in significant consequences for those involved.

The latest debacle raises questions about alcohol consumption on flights and airline protocols. Can Air India finally address this recurring issue and ensure the skies remain friendly for all passengers? Only time, and more robust measures, will tell.

One moment he was sipping champagne, next thing you know, he’s in a wet t-shirt contest he never signed up for.

So much for Air India's streaming service at 30,000 feet.

I recall a flight from Sydney to Mumbai with Qantas in 2004. The toilets were disgustingly filthy with used toilet paper strewn all over the place in the toilet and out into the cabin. Poor cleaners..

I would, peeing on a fellow traveler is not a joke

Sounds like he had too much to drink and fell asleep before waking up to go to the toilet not realising that he wasn't where he thought he was 🙈

suprised the pissor didn't get a punch in mouth at the very least.

If you urinate on someone a violent response should be expected.

It was probably gearing down, surely?

Usually, the crew does not allow you to stand up and go to the lavatory during takeoff and landing.

those who have visited india are not surprised at all. just another day.

Now thats called Incredible India. I feel sorry for the neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan who just because looks almost same are often judged as Indians and faces issues. Where as all these countries are much much better as a nation and more civilized.

Indians will all be Indians no matter what it is been told or action taken.

Indian "best practice"

This is the dross Thailand is encouraging with their open door money money money policy ,, no doubt these tramps will be sleeping accomadation free on Pattayas beaches amongst their fellow countrymen’s deffacations

Bizarre behaviour can only think the victim pissed him off in some way!

Their hygiene practices are well known.

Shouldn't that be "gearing down for landing"? 😉

Air India has never improved, My first flight with them was Mumbai to Bangkok that will be 25 years ago, disgusting, There used to be Indian Airlines that was even worse, I flew from Goa to Sharjah I thought I was doing myself a favour not flying to Mumbai, Even business class, I cancelled the return ticket and came back Dubai to Mumbai on Emirate's back down to Goa on Jet,
