China did not make $1 trillion off trade with the United States in 2024.

Actually in Trade In Goods the US deficit was $295 billion

In Goods and Services it was $264 billion

I don't buy the argument that he is a failed businessman. 

 

Most people who run a casino or any business do nothing else. It appears that Trump owned or co-owned or was involved in some capacity in HUNDREDS of businesses. At one point, he also had a TV show. So it's not like he's devoting 100 hours a week to these businesses. So even if some of the businesses failed, it doesn't mean anything. 

 

Also, note that people who use the argument that Trump is a failed businessman like you conveniently avoid giving credit to having Musk on his team, clearly one of the must successful businessmen in the world.

Trump's big moves in the '80s and '90s all failed. That's the reason that all the banks in New York refused to do any more business with him. Not exactly the market success. What rescued him was the apprentice. And he was not the creator of that show.
