British Man Says ‘I Love You’ Before Taking Own Life in Udon Thani

A 72-year-old British man took his own life in front of his wife in their home in Phon District, Udon Thani province, late on the evening of 13 April. The man, identified as David (surname withheld), reportedly said “I love you” to his Thai wife moments before fatally shooting himself under the chin with a 9mm handgun.

Bangkok Governor Sets End-of-April Target to Clear Collapsed Building Debris

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has announced that the height of the collapsed Office of the Auditor General building has now been reduced from 26 metres to 20.5 metres, raising hopes of locating more bodies. The high-rise structure crumbled following an earthquake, with the most affected zones believed to befloors 24 to 29.

A 44-year-old man who drove his pickup truck into a crowd celebrating Songkran, Thailand’s New Year water festival, has been granted bail, police confirmed on 15 April. The incident, which occurred in the Klong Udom village area of Thung Praya subdistrict, Sanam Chai Khet district, left multiple people injured, including one in serious condition.
