The last day for Foodpanda is 23 May.  I use either Foodpanda or Grab every day.  Sucks that the most English/foreigner friendly one is closing.  I hope Grab can up their game.

Foodpanda was problematic when an error happened and they got rid of human help a while ago, but it usually worked just fine.

Not sure I've ever user any of these,I use Grab market to get stuff from supermarkets without parking there LOL

The apps do have a lot of competing pressures of course.

Attracting drivers with enough pay to make such a rough job worth it.

Attracting restaurants while forcing them to cut their margins to pay them.

Attracting customers with good enough service, and attractive enough incentives to encourage frequent usage.

It's definitely not an instant minting money concept.

I do know in the US now paying for delivery is more of a luxury item than an everyday thing.

In Thailand it's much more of everyday thing, with people of all classes using it frequently even for very small orders.

I hope it can remain that way.

I think it's okay value for foreign food.

I ain't paying 80 baht for a regular Thai fried rice on Grab/Food Panda app (it's normally 40 baht in the shop), when I could order a Japanese curry for 120.

The markup on apps for normal Thai food just ain't worth it. I get that you have to pay for delivery, but it ain't worth double.

It really depends on the specific restaurant.  One of my favorite nearby Thai restaurants has the exact same prices for eat in and Grab so with free delivery and 20 percent off delivery is cheaper.

who would be so lazy to use it every day when there are thousands of restaurants out there?

unless you live in a remote area?

I wondered how they made money. I've had Pro since 2022 for maybe 200 baht/year and got free/discounted delivery and many 25% or more discounts + vouchers.

It was good while it lasted...like other things in the LOS

LOS was a cute catchphrase that was good while it lasted.  Not sure why people don't just call it Thailand these days, unless you mean the land of scams, land of scowls, etc.

Buy a laptop.

I'm not sure how that would help.

Grab Food is available on Chromebook, Phone and Tablet.

Same for Line Man.
