A Hungarian tourist was injured in an altercation near Pattaya Beach after allegedly refusing to pay for drinks, cannabis, and entertainment provided by a transgender companion.

The incident occurred at 00:15 on 30 April, near Soi Pattaya Beach 12, in the Nong Prue sub-district of Bang Lamung, Chonburi province. Police Lieutenant Chaowalit Suwanmanee, deputy inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, responded to the call along with officers from the Tourist Police and volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Foundation.

At the scene, the 53-year-old Hungarian man, name not disclosed, was found with a laceration on the left side of his head and ear, bleeding heavily. Rescue personnel administered first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital. The suspected assailants had fled the scene prior to the arrival of authorities.

Staff from the cannabis and cocktail shop where the incident occurred presented a drink bill totalling 1,570 baht as evidence and expressed frustration with the tourist’s behaviour. According to witnesses, the man had consumed both cannabis and alcoholic beverages at the venue before inviting a transgender woman from the beach to join him.

However, when the venue closed, the tourist was allegedly unable or unwilling to pay either the bill or the entertainment fee owed to the companion. This led to a heated dispute. The companion reportedly called in friends to help resolve the situation, which quickly escalated into physical violence. Staff at the venue intervened to break up the altercation, preventing more serious injuries.

Following treatment, the Hungarian man will be taken in for questioning by Pattaya police. He claimed he intended to pay the bill but was unable to do so due to a problem with his mobile phone. If he chooses to press charges regarding the assault, investigators will attempt to identify and locate the perpetrators for legal action.

This story does not make any sense, how would you go out without some cash knowing that you were going to be engaging in some form of paid companionship?

I don't know of too many ladies (or men) of the night who accept payment by bank scan.

Those working in the Pattaya nightlife scene? I suspect not..... yes many bars and shops and a few noodle sellers have the scan and pay, but being out without any cash makes no sense.

Why would you think those working in the nightlife scene don't have Smartphones and bank accounts? 🙂
