Additionally, he has argued that NHS workers who cannot speak English properly should not be employed, emphasizing the importance of a common language for effective communication in healthcare settings. Both valid concerns. With the Uber drivers it's irritating and time consuming when they go the wrong way, and you can't have a proper conversation with them about it. With NHS workers it's much more serious. There are enough mistakes made in our NHS putting patient health / lives at risk. A language barrier increases the risk of mistakes even further. That's just common sense. 2

But the HMRC was cut in terms of staff & finding over the years to facilitate the inability to tackle tax evasion & tax avoidance over the last decade. Money is only a small part of the issue. 1
Purdey Posted Thursday at 03:33 AM Posted Thursday at 03:33 AM Aren't the kids and wife of Farage all German? He was an MEP so he must speak another language. 1

Language is not a problem in the NHS. All foreign-born nurses must meet strict English language requirements set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council before they can register and work. They must either pass an approved English test like IELTS or OET (which most posters on here would fail), or provide evidence that they trained or practiced in an English-speaking country. This ensures that all nurses, regardless of their country of origin, can communicate clearly and effectively with patients and colleagues. 2 2

Three cheers for the Brits indigenous people!
