Trump is a slug. But even for a slug this is tin eared. Weren't there at least nine or ten people around him who had the brains to warn him off against this sort of stupidity?

It’s a serious stress test. If Congress enables unchecked executive power as they now have and sycophancy drowns out dissent, democratic checks erode and the President gets to spout whatever lunacy he and his merry troupe think. National security overreach bypassing due process further tilts the balance. The American democratic system’s fate hinges on how these tensions resolve.

Use what, how? No one believes that Trump actually made the meme. He is computer illiterate. He did, however, like and re-post the meme, which shows yet again what a classless act he is.

Other Trump memes also exist, such as one with him shaking hands with Hitler or dressed like Stalin. Why doesn't he just forward some of them as well, as it's all a joke? He doesn't do so, of course, because, rightly, they're offensive and he doesn't want to be seen as endorsing their message, which is what a White House forwarding does. And, again, all that is aside, as amplifying this meme only has a downside. No upside. He gains nothing from it. Instead, he alienates yet more people who probably voted or back him. It was an act of political stupidity.

I can understand Trump not wanting to broadcast memes about Stalin or Hitler.  That really could be offensive to some people, and there's no upside.

As for the Pope meme?  That's so far over the top, no one will take it seriously.  As for so-called "Catholic Leaders"?  I'm pretty sure no one takes them seriously, either.  Real Catholics understand the joke.

Waiting for his next one, the Prophet Trump wearing a beard, accompanied by a 7 year old girl and a goat; a DIY Mohammed kit - not that this would upset anyone in this free speech world

Biden already has priority on the 7 year old.

He will tell her how his leg hairs turn blond at the pool in the sunshine.
