A tragic incident unfolded on Suvarnabhumi Airport's runway road in Samut Prakan, when an 18-year-old's decision to test a vehicle resulted in a fatal accident. The mishap occurred today, 12 May, leaving two dead and injuring the driver’s girlfriend. Despite warnings, the driver went ahead with his risky attempt, leading to the devastating outcome.

Police from Suvarnabhumi Airport Police Station responded to reports of the late-night accident on Suvarnabhumi Runway Road 3, situated in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Phli district. Prompt assistance came from the Suvarnabhumi Centre and Poh Teck Tung Foundation.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a white Isuzu pickup truck, registered in Bangkok, severely damaged and resting in a grassy area off the road. The vehicle had suffered significant front-end damage.

In the driver's seat, 18-year-old Charoennchai was discovered deceased. Nearby, the body of 22-year-old Tharadorn was also found. In the front passenger seat, Panrat, aged 18, had sustained injuries but was conscious enough to narrate the events leading to the crash. She received immediate medical attention before being transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Panrat, who is Charoennchai’s girlfriend, explained that they were en route to their home in Samut Prakan, with an older friend sitting in the rear. Charoennchai had decelerated to test the vehicle at the location, despite Panrat’s warnings about potential dangers. Tragically, the vehicle lost control and careened into a roadside ditch.

Police intend to review CCTV footage from the area to clarify the accident’s cause and verify Panrat’s account. The remains of the deceased have been taken to Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute for autopsies.

This incident serves as a tragic reminder of the consequences of neglecting warnings and undertaking risky maneuvers behind the wheel.
