I worked with a couple of white South Africans offshore in Thailand and they had some harrowing family stories, too.  And that was about 10 years ago.

 

I've also read that the vast majority of the expropriated farms have failed miserably.  The knowledge is vested in the white farming families, like it or not.

Libs have no problem with that racist song calling for genocide of white people sung by thousands, but support Lucy Connolly getting almost 3 years for a hurty tweet.

 

SA is a disgrace. It should be called out. The fact that everyone except Trump is ignoring it is a disgrace. Trump goes up in my estimations every day.

 

It doesn't surprise me that Liberals are siding with the regime targeting, torturing and killing thousands of white farmers ahead of Trump though. The left is totally lost. Morally and intellectually.

One of the men leading the rally was Julius Malema who left the party in 2012, he has never held an official government position.

He now leads a party called the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) which won 9.5% in last year's election, they form part of the Opposition.

Ramaphosa pointed out that the EFF is a small minority party and said that government policy was completely against what Malema was saying.

Another man in the video singing the lyric "shoot the Boer" at a different rally was former President Jacob Zuma who left office in 2018. The video is from 2012 when he was president.

The ANC promised to stop singing the song shortly afterwards.

Zuma subsequently left the ANC and now leads the opposition uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, which won more than 14% in last year's election.

The BLM  has transitioned.  It has become a public interest group and focuses on community change, and arts and culture. It's statement of activity is that it is working inside and outside of the system to heal the past, reimagine the present, and invest in the future of Black lives through policy change, investment in our communities, and a commitment to arts and culture.

There is a time for protest and there is a time for building. BLM has moved into a new phase.
