Down the track please report regarding entry and subsequent entries with your METV.

Interested as this should be hassle free option to spend 6 months in Thailand with convenient side trips using flights.

Will do.

One other thing in 30 years of visa exceptions, I've never brought or been pulled up about the 20,000 baht cash to enter.

I'm feeling I should change my ways on that and don't what to give them an excuse.

The only naughty thing I've done in 30 years, overstayed 2 days about 20 years ago 😄

Several accounts I have read involving refused entry occurred where even if person had the cash on them the io was not interested.

By all means have the cash. Not huge bucks.

The small issue you have is previous METV.

Now that should not be an issue.

You have a visa for heavens sake, however some folk getting hassled for no good reason.

In fact you can squeeze a 9 month stay in Thailand with a METV and you're planning on 6.

For Tourist Visa applicants, only certain nationalities require permanent residency status to apply

Thanks for link, however....

My understanding is that for METV you had to apply in passport country or country where you have Permanent Resident status.

The OP obtained a METV in Philippines

You have to be resident in the Country from where you apply, but not necessarily have permanent residency.

Conditions usually apply to certain nationals of certain Countries.

If you're not from one of the listed Countries, then you can apply.
