Doctor recommendation lower back pain

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm looking for a doctor recommendation regarding my lower back pain, preferably at Bumrungrad Hospital (I'm a regular patient there).

Gettin back pain now almost regularly when sitting for a bit longer and want to have it looked at and maybe get some physiotherapy.

I've found lower back stretches were a game changer for me, it's about finding the ones that really help, see YouTube, focus on ham strings.

My Tens stimulation 500 baht on Lazada was also very good, I don't need it now due to the stretches

First of all get rid of your inflammation if any.

How is the pain? Locally or radiates back, butt down the leg?

What helped me for my prolapse, was swimming, walking the beach and soft oil massage. Physiotherapy and chiropractor didn't help anything.

Breathing exercises to relax your nervous system and if any stress in your life, try to eliminate anything that can tension up your muscles. Sitting is the worst thing you can do

Anyway, if no clear visual proofs, Dr's aint much of help. Time is your friend

I know you prefer Bumrungrad but the best spine doctor in Thailand is at BNH

If an MRI is needed, can save money by doing it at  www.mrithailand.com

If you get the all clear to try exercises/PT,  many people recommend

https://www.bpcphysio.com/

If there is no radiation of pain down the leg and no numbness or tinhling in the legs, you could try physio first (or even home exervises/stretched, many on youtube)  before MRI/doctor but stop at once anything that produces pain

If there is radiation of pain down the leg or leg numbness/tingling, see doctor first

Super helpful thanks @Sheryl 🙏

I would feel more comfortable to go to Bumrungrad as they have all my medical history, is there a chance you can guide me to a Doctor there?

As you suggested I primarily want to get cleared for PT (and the insurance cover). There is no radiation of pain or tingling to the legs.

I strongly recommend you go to the recommended doctor.

If yoy have chronic conditions of relevance to this issue (unlikely but possible), either supply that history verbally or bring copy of your medical records with you.

Spine specialist really does not need (and will not pay much attention to) your full medical history if no prior spinal procedures/confitikns and  surgery not being contemplated. Meds currently taken, allergies, and any chronic ongoing conditions is enough.
