The other way round.

I SEE the reality

OK, did Biden and the Democrats allow an open border?

And yet he looks like a dignified Statesman and a staple genius compared to the circus goon.

Yet the left was calling him Hitler as well.

Now correlate that with his numerous posts on self-confidence, knowing your worth etc.

You are flat out wrong.

Someone claimed tariffs would just be passed in to customers, to which I responded:

Me: “Just like corporate income taxes are taxes passed on to the customers, but you're all for those, yes?
Corporate income taxes both punish the consumer, but:
Corporate income taxes punish domestic manufacturers.
Tariffs punish foreign manufacturers.”

To which you responded:
You: “I was an importer into the USA for a while. If there were taxes [duty] on any imported items, I had to pay it. My suppliers did not. Plain and simple.”

To which I responded:
Me: “Your customers had to pay it, and it makes the import less desirable, effectively punishing the foreign manufacturer. You operated a business and honestly did not know what I meant?
In any event, if you had been buying from domestic manufacturers, you'd have had to pay their corporate income taxes, and you'd have passed that on to your customers as well, yes?”

To which you responded:
You: “my customers did not have to pay it because I did not raise prices...  what I was purchasing was not made in the USA...  if it were, I would not have had any margin for profit...”

To which I responded:
Me: “Well that's great. You just proved that tariffs do not cause inflation, but they do generate additional tax revenue. Win-win!”

It proves nothing - most companies will pass on the price increase - I chose not to... please don't be so foolish as to think that my small company has any affect or is in any way an indicator of the whole economy.

You are in over your skis if you think your limited knowledge applies to everyone...

And actually, since my profits were smaller due to eating the costs, you could say that I paid less in taxes. And, I eventually stopped carrying that item.

So, you used your business "as an indicator of the whole economy" to somehow prove I was wrong, but you call foul when I use your claim, and you just ended up proving I was right. Oh, what a tangled web and whatnot.

Tariffs, wages and corporate income taxed are generally all passed on to the consumer.

Have you ever been in business?

I have owned two, worked for probably twenty. The job I retired from was as the Operations Director over Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East for a small division of a Fortune 200 company.
