The various UK ones that I use are much better overall.

When it comes to the UK, though, you can't beat contactless for ease and simplicity in making payments up to £100 IMHO. Presumably the likeliest reason why this hasn't, unfortunately, caught on in Thailand has something to do with the annual 250 THB fee levied by Thai banks for their cards, whereas UK banks don't impose any such fee for their cards.

My bold:

1.2 The User can apply for Krungsri Online/krungsri application through the channels specified by the Bank, such as the Bank's website, Krungsri ATM, the Bank’s branches, or the Bank’s application installed on mobile phone or tablet that can be connected to the Bank's network. The User must fill out all required information completely and accurately. The basic qualification of the User is to be of age 12 or over but not exceeding 70 years. The registration will be valid when the User receives a confirmation message via E-mail or mobile phone number registered with the Bank.

Turning to the bottom end of the age range, isn't it just as unacceptable that Krungsri are seemingly more than happy to give the green light to kids from as young as 12 using their app for whatever nefarious banking purposes they might have in mind, in defiance of the express wishes of their parents or guardians? Clearly so much for there being any curbs on the banking activities of minors (or at least those aged 12+) in LOS, I think!

Agreed.

However reading the T&C further on I seem to remember something about a parent being involved unless the minor is over 16 (18?)

Kasikorn does the same and yes, they are password protected.

Are the passwords like the ones Krung Sri uses on its .pdfs - one's date of birth? (My Thai stockbroker does the same.)

Sorry off topic to Krungsri, but talking of UK banks' contactless PIN & Chip, I recently received a replacement card for my HSBC UK Debit (VISA) Card as the existing one had split. I tried to use it in an ATM to check the balance, but it wouldn't accept it. I spoke to HSBC UK several times and they suggested trying it at a POS, which I did, and it worked, but using the PIN, (it was for GBP18). Tried it again afterwards at an ATM, and again, no joy. Similarly with my HSBC Jersey Debit VISA card. Cannot use in an ATM here. Anyone else had the same issues? It's not that I particularly want to use the UK cards here, but I do want them to work when I attempt to draw cash at a UK ATM upon arrival. HSBC UK seemed aware of similar occurrences, but no solutions offered, other than issuing another card, (which would require setting up a new PIN...at an HSBC ATM machine, of which of course there aren't any here).

Not sure if relevant but is the pin only 4 digits?

SCB as an example some years ago changed to 6 digit pins as did I think most other Thai banks.
