10/6/25 Hello , I'm wondering if there are any recents reports on obtaining a DTV for Thai Language Ed. in Bangkok, from US LA consulate, (which is my required consulate to use, here in the US) ?

1) What if I just paid for 2 months of education at my school of choice, and left the country after 2 months, for the remainder of the year?

2) say I came back the following year, would I then need to be enrolled in advance at the language school?

3) would I need to not return for 1 year? to then re-entry ?  sorry, if these are basic questions.

I'll try to help....

I think you need to CANCEL your Ed visa before leaving.  Remember to do that.

Not sure why you would need an ED visa for only two months.   Also not sure if ED and Digital Visa are mixed....ask about that.

Ed visa can now be given IN country, yes, In Thailand.  costs more.  around 15,000 baht for the "convenience" and then 1900 every three months.

you get 60 days then pay 1900 for another 30.....I'm pretty sure you can study on just a stamp.

nope, can enroll in country.     Can start classes immediately.   There's a few weeks wait for the letter from MOE, but that's for the visa.  Not sure that's what you really need.

take my answers with a grain of salt... confirm.

so, I live in the US, I've no ED visa, nor seeking one. Possibly Seeking the DTV based on studying Thai

but, will only be visiting for 2 months , how best would it be to do this ?

hmm, did things change and it is no longer required to prove that one is doing actual eductation, but instead must now have 500k THB when applying in Thai Bank only, no other requirements?

99% of Thai embassies will not issue a DTV for studying Thai language. They will tell you to get an education visa instead. I don't know Muay Thai was on the original MFA infographic as a soft power and Thai language was not, but it seems most embassies are following that guidance.

If you are only coming here for 2 months just come in free stamp entry (visa exempt) for 60 days.

No sense jumping through the hoops to get a DTV, pay the 400 USD the visa costs or sign up forlanguage school classes you have no desire to attend.
