A warehouse manager and her partner, both working for a delivery company, have been arrested for allegedly hiding methamphetamine in a parcel.

The arrest took place on June 17 after Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonsom directed a Min Buri police investigation into a drug trafficking network using parcels. This led to the seizure of 1,200 methamphetamine pills from Nicha and her partner, Kan (surnames withheld).

The case emerged on June 16 when a woman in Min Buri district reported a suspicious parcel to the 191 radio centre. Upon inspection, officials found six bags containing 1,200 pills.

Police discovered a phone number associated with the parcel, claiming it was incorrectly packed. They devised a plan to catch the suspects, having the recipient inform the caller that a delivery worker would return it.

Nichapat, the phone owner, arrived at a petrol station to collect the parcel. She admitted the meth belonged to her partner, Kan, who worked at a logistics company’s warehouse in Saphan Sung.

Taken into custody, Nichapat led police to the warehouse where Kan confessed to the drug possession. He claimed a customer's parcel was damaged, and while replacing it, he accidentally packed methamphetamine meant for another customer. Realising the error, he instructed Nichapat to retrieve the parcel.

Both were charged with possession and intent to distribute a category 1 narcotic. They confessed and were handed to Min Buri police for further legal action.
